Can you blame him?
The only possible positive is that maybe we'll get a new manager next year.
Maybe Bobby V. will be looking for another new job!

I thought it was pretty silly that they went out and got him in the first place. I highly doubt they would shitcan him in the first season though. They keep on losing games like that to the Yankees and maybe I could be wrong.
What troubled me was less the signing of Bobby V (which could be, and was, reasonably defended by some smart people), but the process for doing so - every public indication being that ownership let GM Ben Cherington conduct a lengthy search, pick someone, then kneecap him and force him to pretend he wanted to hire Bobby V.
And again, it's early, a tough schedule, and it's unclear how much blame he deserves when the main culprit is historically bad pitching (worst in the majors).
But while it's been my assumption that he would at least make it through the year, it's not a great sign that the GM is already having to say that he is "very confident" about Bobby V as the manager.
His pitchers just totally imploded on him by looking at the box score. Can't really fault him too much on that one. Didn't realize that they have only won 4 games so far. Holy crapola.

I think it's appropriate that our first worst pitch of 2012 was uncorked by Jonathan Sanchez, who feels bad for the strike zone and wishes it didn't get so much abuse. I know this pitch doesn't look that bad - it just looks like a pitch in the dirt - but slow-motion instant replay reveals just how much in the dirt it actually was.

You know, at least 3-13 is something. Suck is better than mediocre. Like say the 5-12 Cubs or Padres. If you're not going to make the playoffs, at least don't be boring. KCR aren't going to be boring, I don't think.

Now they've gone and broken Rany
At least this terrible start should produce a few memorable JoePos columns.
I'll bet the Royals marketing team is rethinking that "Our Time" slogan.
More like Dour Time.

This is the same guy that was out half a season for running into a wall. That's the funniest thing I've heard all day. I can only imagine the steam coming out of your head hearing that.
How did he get the job? How did it get past... any one?
(Oh, and this Detroiter hates that damned song, even if Journey is one of his secret "shame" bands. That we've latched on to a song that tries to paint Windsor as Detroit's ghetto, is just broken to me. And we haven't even done it ironically or anything. We just like to hear our name in a song. Go Kid Rock!)

At some point it will be time to start blaming the players. Didn't they fire the last manager for "losing the locker room" last season? Well, new manager. Same problems. Seems to me there is a different issue.

Oh, that's right - EVERYONE EXCEPT THE GM.

Santana looked good today though.

Personally I don't think the guy should be playing right now as his defense thus far this year has been sub-par and his offense.....well, he hasn't had any offense really. That said the callers on the Ticket this morning were down right vicious in their criticism of him. I just do not get it. Dude has played his heart out every season. No, he is not getting it done now but he did in the past for us. Can we not be classy in his exit? The guy deserves it, imo. Had the call been made correctly against the Twins (iirc) a few years back when his jersey got hit by the pitch he'd be a frigging local hero still I'd bet.

Inge wasn't so classy about his demotion two years ago, though he found himself again after cooling off in the minors for a while. He has no business being in the majors any more and he has come to terms with that. Hating him does no good. It's a management decision and as fans we need to remember what they've done with the team in the last few years and that Illitch is willing to buy World Series Championship before he dies. If they're keeping Inge then it's because they don't see a better option available to them.

The fact that he gets seriously hurt every year makes me shake my head (again) at that extension the team gave him.

Yep. I mean...Zim's not dogging it out there. He's not a goldbrick or a nancy. Dude's injuries are real. Problem is that he gets very real, fairly serious injuries all the damned time.
Silver lining here is that at least the injury is to his right shoulder and not his left. A persistent, long term issue with his right shoulder means you can maybe move him to 1b down the line. A persistent, longterm injury to the left means you worry about him becoming Scott Rolen.
