Update: so I finished EOTN. Things are a lot easier when you have someone who knows what they are doing to help you. I think I was just standing there as a spectator not doing much while a friend finished it for me.

Sadly no Hall of Monuments point! I thought I would get one, thats the main reason I went back since I was so close to EOTN end when I last played.

Getting Hall of Monument points is actually quite hard - one of the "easiest" ways (aside from character birthday miniatures) is to make lots and lots of money to buy the expensive Elite Armors. You get one point for having single Elite Armor, and another point for having three.

Elite Armors do cost LOTS of platinum though. The cheapest ones are probably 50 platinum.

If you play through the "War in Kryta" storylines and manage to hoard 10 Medals of Honor, you can exchange them for an Oppressor's Weapon and dedicate in in the HoM for 2 HoM points.

If you PvP a lot, you can get 3 HoM points for having rank 3 Gladiator (obtained by consecutive wins in Random Arenas).

If you manage to max five titles, that's 3 points. Maxing titles take a LONG time, though.
But you've seen who's in heaven

All the elite armors are 15k per piece (except Vabbian). To get it dedicated you need to have the lower 4 pieces. You do not need the headgear to get the armor statue. Also, if you have beaten all 3 games that goes towards points as well. Just make sure you have everything dedicated in the HoM and then it will show up in the reward calculator.

I just started this quest. I got up to the stage where you have to defend someone near Olafstead but I failed to keep him alive. I think maybe if I play E/Mo and try to keep him alive myself it might go better?

I was just looking at the HoM guide in GW wiki, how hard is it to get the rare pet point? Miniatures, I have about 5 or 6 I think. Are these for sale from other players and are they expensive?

Ok I am thinking fo giving GW a go, I have to admit I have all 4 games but never really played it that much in fact I think I picked a few of them up for next to nothing in a bargain bin.

Anyways I am reinstalling atm, where do I start.

Prophecies + EOTN or faction or Nightfalls or mix and match or start at the begining?

Start in Nightfall. That way you will get early access to heroes which are way better than henchmen. Also post your name and we will invite you into out current guild if you want. A few of us also use the OO teamspeak server when we play as well if you want to join us you are more then welcome.

Ok, I'm almost at 34 Hall of Monuments points. I can get 35 this week.

But to get to 40 or 45 I'm probably going to have to join the Reddit guild.

For those interested, this Friday's stress test was indeed that, a stress test. So many people logged in that getting in at all was a chore, then I got booted several times. I did notice that graphics seemed to have taken a major step forward (on medium end systems) because Arena Net has throttled back some of the particle effects for skills and spells. Less flash in combat, but everything else looks better as a result.
Over here.

Yup, "A Good Deed". I am stuck on this one myself at the moment. The mobs make a beeline to the guy you have to protect and it's hard to keep him up. I need to see if I can get an area heal for one of my heroes.

What you should do is set a date and time and others will try to make it and help out. Besides healers and shutdown mesmers humans are always better. At least that is how I feel.

Not sure I remember this quest. Have you tried to bring a minion master? Clogging up the field with necro pets sometimes work.

Edit: the wiki says spread out to avoid AoE, and bring Ritualist healers. Yeah, switching so your own character can heal seem like a good idea.

Rare pet: I think this one is pretty straightforward, I'm not sure which pets classify as "Rare" though. I tamed the Imperial Phoenix, which I'm pretty sure counts, which is only available in the "you won!" explorable area after you beat the Factions main campaign (don't forget to bring the "Charm Animal" skill to the final mission). So that's a tip I guess.

I think I'm available all evenings starting Wednesday if anyone wants to work on the Guild Wars Beyond stuff (like War in Kryta). Although I'm going to have to haul my character all the way through like 4 areas to turn in the quest, because I didn't do Prophecies on this character and didn't open up any outposts when I picked up the quests

Yeah, assassin and ritualist you have to create in factions, dervish and paragon you can only create in Nightfall.

What you could do if you want an Assassin is start in Factions, level up to about level 15 and then jump over to the Nightfall campaign - I think you do that through Kaineng Center.

You can do it as early as 10 for Nightfall or Eye of the North. I'd jump to Eye of the North rather than Nightfall, if you have EOTN active. Each campaign gives you 10 heroes along the way, and Eye is where you'll activate your hall of monuments.

A friend joined up after a long hiatus like me so I thought I'd get him the rare pet from Shiro. Heh Shiro beat us up pretty badly, that damn banish!

I think my team is starting to seem decent, I'm partially using this build http://pvx.wikia.com/wiki/Build:Team_-_ ... er_Support

I've got the Necro/Mo, Necro/Rit, Mes/Rit and Paragon. I don't have any Rit heroes or most of the skills to make a RoJ monk. Any suggestion what to use to fill out this party?

War in Kryta is a bit of a pain so far. To get those stupid picnic items for Gwens stalker, I spent over 2 hours on some of the drops getting no xp and hardly any loot since its in a low level area. Boring!

Finally finished War in Kryta last night and got my first HOM point weapon. Also was pleasantly surprised to see a rare mini pet in my inventory for another point!

Next I'm thinking I should get some armor for companions. I already have 4 or 5 of them outfitted (Koss, Dunkoro etc.). I forget the name of that set. So what other set is relative easy to get? EOTN sets? Or the one where you have to farm as a Wurm?

The easiest Nightfall sets (for me) are the ones where you fight corsairs (which I think you already have) and where you fight margonites in the plane of torment.

For Eye of the North, I have the Brotherhood hero armor set on farm status. I don't have any on me now (I gave what I had to Peacedog), but I can farm up ten of them some time next week, after the GW2 beta is over.

Hey Skystride - for the War in Kryta mission where you have to either storm the castle or pick up the keys to the back door, which did you do? That's the one I'm on now. I tried going in the front door and get decimated.

I spent 15K on cloth of the brotherhood yesterday so I could get a couple more points.

Yeah, that's it. I got as far as the Jade guy and got pummeled. I guess I need to try it more carefully, because I just tried to do it with the keys and got mobbed after going all the way across the map. Not a great use of time.

Ok, I need some HoM guidance. As I mentioned earlier, my account was hacked, my characters, elite armor and tons of plat are all gone and I was left with some random level 20 Assassin/Me/Ele that I actually don't like playing (I was mainly a Rit or Necro before).

My HoM before the hack was 8 points. I'd love to somehow easily get 2 more.

Someone recommended taming a Boa in Factions. The problem is this character never played through it and I have no idea how to get to the area to tame the thing or even if i can without playing the campaign again.

Any ideas or is taming the fastest way based on my current HoM?

I think the easiest way for you to get a couple more points would be to quest a bit for plat and then buy 4 cloth of the brotherhood. Give them to 4 of the EotN heroes and that will get you 2 points since you've got one upgraded hero already. You should be able to buy the cloth of the brotherhood for 5 plat or better, or you can see if Tareeq will hook you up.

The other thing you can do is just get any old pet and get it up to 20. That will give you a point.

Thanks. I don't want to take up people's time (although I'm not above taking handouts :D), especially since my play schedule is so uncertain because of my kids.

I have 15 plat on this character so I'll look into the cloth buying. I forgot so much about this game though. Where do I buy the cloth?

Second question. I see they have added a hero M.O.X, which this character already has, but I can't figure out how to dedicate it at the HoM?

Take anyone's time? I am offering you would not be taking anything. If you want to play just send me a message on Steam. I will happily jump in and help you out if I am around. Also if you post a character name I can add you into the most current guild.

Also we use the OO teamspeak server. Much easier to coordinate things.

To add MOX all you have to do is have him in your party when you go into the HOM and look at the proper monument.

Oh yeah, MOX you can add without upgrading. To buy Cloth of the Brotherhood, you'll have to just buy it from someone. Easiest way is to just stand in the Eye of the North and see if anyone is selling (which is common) or put up your own request in trade to buy them.
