You're right. But, I've been trying for days to get people to look at Lagom. No one listens.

I get here today and the die has already been cast. I mean, you all have the plan in place, all set in stone, to the exact number of people who should be on Grund's vote and who shouldn't.

What I would tell you is that we're in deep trouble if both purge and Grund turn up good. You and Remus have both stated that you think purge firehosing Yoda clues is in character for a good purge. Yet, if that is true and Grund turns out Rebel, then where are we?

Two misses, with a lot of uncertainty about purge tomorrow. And, (if he is good) enough Imperials to get a significant groundswell of opinion behind them so that we then face tomorrow night potentially lynching Yoda, having missed three times and just about sealing our fate.

So, I think this is a really dangerous plan. I think we should be asking ourselves if this is a Rebel driven plan or an Imperial one. I hope I'm wrong and that both of them are evil.

But, you can see why I feel significantly against the majority and, thus, felt I could learn more by watching.

I've also told you (while Lassr trumpets the "theo must be good" trumpet) that this theo looks a lot like a previously evil theo incarnation.

I didn't trumpet theo must be good, my gut says he is and that's just my opinion. Lagom is up on my list but that's for another day or later this day, as for now we are waiting on Grund.
I don't think both Purge and Grund are Empire but I will not be shocked if one of them is. If Grund is and purge cast the over vote then that proves Purge is good as empire can't vote against their own.
The only reason people get lost in thought is because it's unfamiliar territory.

i'd like to think that what i have said has been of substance and not a wishy washy, blah blah blah statements, hyperactive, caffeeine, add induced statements. But i've actually been keeping up, just havent pipped up. Guess ilike to speak up when i have something to say or something to give in to the group. Pretty much since this whole game has been centered around a few individuals i've been content to watch the on goings and try to figure things out. Guess if you ever meet me in real life you'll notice i am a very quiet person...observant, watchful...but i really dont talk a lot. Imma thinker not a blabber.

i still think your evil, i still think your "lord mortis" thing is weird and kind of reminds me of grunds game a while back where he was evil and he kept on refering to a "secret forum". Your play style is dinstinctly evil this game. But, i doubt if i'll be able to get a train rolling on either you or LM.

Anyway, for the rest of you and back to my little sojourn. I'll try my best to pipe up when i can..

Grund usually doesn't reward being backed into a corner with a deep, informative post that changes the face of the game.

But I'm in no rush. I'm sure we can get another three pages under our belt before anything happens.

Thanks Scoopers. Luckily enough she's in fine health and what not. It's that her husband passed away about 5 years ago and she still hasnt gotten rid of his stuff, and other junk that was accumulated (like his dead mothers stuff). Additionally she says she "needs a man around the house" for various technical things and what not. So i'll be playing the role of muscle, manservant and male know how. She needs help with a lot of other things.

It's actually good that i am going out there because my pops has been after her for a while to clear up that stuff for a variety of reasons. She trusts me, i'm available, and she's finally in the mood to tackle this stuff. So off i go!

Grundbegriff wrote:Let me explain some facts of life....

First, a generalization:

If I'm on a good team, the best case scenario is for me to pull Normal and for someone with a moderately low profile to pull Seer.
If I'm on a good team, the medium case scenario is for me to pull Special, but not a crucial Special.
If I'm on a good team, the worst case scenario is for me to pull Seer.

The reason these statements are true is that I draw a lot of early attention. Good wants to know whether I'm evil. Evil wants to know whether I'm convertible. Few are inclined to trust me. Etc.

All of this is great if I'm not in a high-value, scarce role. However, it's untenable if I am.

Second, a strategic observation:

If the game offers a role such as Sorcerer -- a role unscannable but duplicitious -- that's a great situation for my survival. It even mitigates the misfortune of happening to be the Seer. For Evil is somewhat less inclined to kill me before finding out whether I'm the Sorcerer. So if I am in that role, I can stay alive longer by deceiving the Goods, and if I am not in that role, I can stay alive longer by deceiving the Evils. But if the game offers no Sorcerer, I'm faced with the dilemma described below.

The dilemma:
  • Good for the Good team: Grundbegriff is Good and Normal.
  • OK for the Good team: Grundbegriff is Good and Special.
  • Bummer for the Good team: Grundbegriff is Good and Seer (or other unique, vital role)

When that third scenario arises, I have to make a decision. Do I (A) sit on the information about my role, or do I (B) divulge it?

If I withhold the info, and then I'm slain on the second day, Evil can emulate my powers and win if Good has no coroner (or has a reticent or slow one).
If I divulge the info, we get (at most) one more scan and then lose the power anyway, but the risk of a massive deception is averted.

My pulling Seer forces this dilemma. In general, I think the right thing to do is to provide information and die rather than withhold it, die anyhow, and put my team at risk. So... for the Rebellion:

I'm Talon Karrde (even though I have no idea who he is). I won't tell you triggercut's exact role, but I'll tell you he's trustworthy. If we have a guardian, that person might want to protect me tonight. Meanwhile, we should discuss what will probably be my final scan.

This is true, but you were at n-3, n-2 if Yoda has his secret vote on, n-1 if Dooku does too. Like Isgrimnur is saying, if another person came forward and contested, votes would come back fast. So....not sure there's that much info to be gleaned - at least a couple rebels would come off quick in case you are who you say you are, and arguably even imperials would in order to look more, uh, rebellious I guess.

That said, I don't think any more people need to pull back.

Along the lines of "a bunch of people who were convinced five seconds ago that I'm evil instantly drop their votes against me when I claim robustly that I'm good-- it's as if they already know I'm telling the truth".

If Grundbegriff is lying my questioning his triggercut comment forced that into being his "scan".
If Grundbegriff is truthful then the comment was a pretty big hint that I stepped all over.

pffft. If you're telling the truth I've looked more foolish than this. Is it possible that you have forgotten my PMing you my suspicions list after being killed in the Remuscide game and you PMing back the link to your posted list which mine finally matched? That was easily more of a foolish moment than this may be. Maybe next game I'll back off you a little. Of course you'll then be evil and I'll regret it which will lead right back here where I started from.

If you are lying though I'll look like a friggin genius.

I'm not rebutting! :D

I have to admire your unflagging optimism.
