If Grund comes back good, does this prove Triggercut to everyone?

And then we can all reflect that a typo, which I am sure most of us have made caused us to lynch our seer.

Not saying this is the case, but I certainly suspect it is..

If I am wrong, then great we got a bad guy..But I just can't see being wrong on this..

In fact, after the "I was posting in another forum" gaffe of day 1, I'm casting what I now realize is likely to be nothing more than a protest vote, but a vote nonetheless so I can "told you so" to everyone at the end of the game.

I'd almost guess that he's trying to either land himself in a vote train that gets a Rebel special or Jedi lynched.

The Empire Strikes Back - Day 2

Postby Scoop20906 » Mon May 21, 2012 7:47 pm

Wow, what crazy game. Qantaga pushes Grund to 10 and now Purge who has been posting every 10 seconds is nowhere to be found.

Imps stalling for time? Maybe purge can't secret vote for Grund. That would explain why he pushed so hard not to vote Grund.

At what point do we call Purge's bluff?

Deadline is looming.

We have less than an hour now.

The Empire would like nothing more than to prevent us from lynching, since that is the one and only way to make progress against them.

May I reiterate my suggestion that we test Unagi?

From a logistical standpoint, that's the easiest wagon to achieve in this time frame.

If not Unagi, then we had better test someone whose enough of a consensus choice to garner the requisite dozen votes in less than an hour.

I'm not completely sold on either frontrunner today, but we can't go to night without a lynch and there's no time to get another train rolling.
So RMC, Qantaga, or Scoop, I guess, gets to decide where Purge goes all ballot-stuffing.

Isgrimnur wrote:

Nope. If I don't vote, I'm going to get pilloried for wanting to move to night without a vote. If I vote off the main trains, the same is going to happen.

I know there are wolves on both trains. There have to be. There's probably one not on the train. But there's not enough time for me to parse and get something formulated today.

Where the heck is purge anyway? 45 minutes to deadline.

I don't think Unagi is a bad guy, and I don't think Grund should be put to the torch on the day he comes out.

So who should we vote on?

Re: The Empire Strikes Back - Day 2

Postby triggercut » Mon May 21, 2012 8:17 pm

theohall is an Imperial.

I'm very sure of it now.

Sequence of events:

1. Grund has a vote count run up on him.

2. Grund says he's Talon Karrde.

3. For almost a day this goes unchallenged. Folks remove votes.

4. I make my infamous "I'm Empire" gaffe.

5. theohall seizes upon this gaffe as evidence of some sort of Empire plot that I just screwed up. My statement somehow proves that Grundbegriff and I are both Empire.

6. theohall continues with the misapprehension that I am Qui Gon because of a brief mention of same.

7. Qui Gon-ness is cleared up for theohall. With the understanding that I am unpowered, and that Grund may be the Rebel Scanner, theohall persists in espousing a theory in which my "I'm Empire" misstatement implicates both Grundbegriff and I, because I have mis-spoken. That's the only reason.

8. By logic, one can see that if theo's postulate is true, then I must be Empire. Hanging me would prove or disprove his own theory to him.

9. theohall is uninterested in that log, and persists in saying "triggercut is Empire, that's why I'm voting for Grundbegriff."

10. Why is theohall doing that? Why is he passing over me--someone willing to swing for the good of the Village, and going after Grundbegriff?

10a.) If I am as Empire as theohall believes, why does he think Grundbegriff has better/more special powers than I do? I mean, if I'm Empire, I'm powered, right?

11. Conclusion to be reached: theohall very much wants to hang a Rebel Special today (see also: his statements against purge), and wishes to do so because he is part of the Empire.

Not particularly. tru1cy very often votes against me in bandwagons. Under these ambiguous circumstances, I can understand why he'd leave his vote on me.

BTW, my assessment of his behavior should not be taken in any sense as an assessment of his alignment; if he's Empire, then obviously he's safe in leaving his vote against me, and motivated to do so.

As for Scoop, I have no idea how to read him at this point.

triggercut: you may be right about theohall. But perhaps he's just obsessing the way he sometimes does. Hard to tell with him, since he tends to fixate.

What hasn't been odd about today?

We are very close to not testing anyone today.

If purge does show by 8:40 I will take this as a sign the purge is avoiding us and vote for Grund. Too many coincidences.

How 'bout taking it as a sign that purge is avoiding us, and vote for purge!

If purge is Yoda, he's a pretty useless Yoda given that he's not around when expected/needed/whatever.

If purge is Dooku, then killing him would be most expeditious, since we don't want that noise in the endgame.

I expected to come in and find this day done.

And while there's a bit of interesting play on this while Purge looks to have broken his word and Izzy and Coop back out and not to go after Purge when the most sense if for people on Unagi to back out and line up on Purge, I have to say please gang up on me.

If you trust Grund and you trust Purge and I am part of the problem then I am incredibly viable pick. Have at it.

With 8 minutes, is Grund or Unagi more likely to get to 12, I wonder?
