Spoiler:
[faceroll]I thought I was facerolling until I did two-player Act II Nightmare with noxiousdog earlier. I died like 5 times trying to get through the Kulle portion. He dropped out of the game (probably because of the smell of me stinking up the joint) and I went to Belial and died another 4 times. [/end faceroll]

Ha. No. Had a few things to do. I came back later when basketball was on, but i'm always half distracted and don't like to half ass it in a group.

I fully expect this to happen in the future. I was going to mention this in an answer to some of the complaints about the economy, but the thread moved faster than my motivation.

This would make those 'Level two [insert class here] to 60' achievements make more sense apart from pure masochism.

I tried to follow the Reduced Level Requirement Inferno gear advice, but I couldn't find anything decent for my barb for under 200k. It also brought up a question. Does the DPS displayed for a weapon take into account the affixes on the weapon or just the primary damage and speed?

If I have a weapon that's 200-300 damage and 1 attack per second, but has affixes of +100-200 cold damage and +15% attack speed. Does it show as 250dps or 460dps? I guess I should have done the math last night when I was looking at all those weapons.

I *really* wish items in the auction house would show the same comparison window with difference in health, dps and protection as the comparison from inventory does.

As I understand it, it INCLUDES +dam and attack speed modifiers (you'll see that the attacks per second is not the 1.2, 1.4 type round numbers you normally see), but doesn't include elemental damage. It WILL include red gems in a socket.

I'd love some clarification if that's not the case.

I was doing the same thing. I also saw weapons for levels lower than 47 as well. The problem is that many are going at Inferno levels of pricing which you just don't get at Nightmare.

AH stats seem to reflect socketed gems. AH dps do not seem to reflect socketed rubies in weapons. As far as I can tell.

Belial down in Nightmare! On to Act III.

Question: Are the locations in the world randomly generated in whether or not they appear? What I mean is that I'm super OCD and explore every nook and cranny of every map, cave, house, etc before moving on to the next section and in the achievements section it's still showing events and caves and locations that I've missed. Which I think is impossible because if that cave was there, believe me I would have found it by now playing through Act I four times already.

Does anyone know if the type of locations you get randomly spawn each game?

Yes, they randomly spawn each game. Keep playing, you'll eventually get them all!

Yeah the story locations are guaranteed to be there, but non-story caves and events are randomized in between play sessions.

Weapon modifiers are added to the displayed stats of the weapon. For example, if you find a sword with +100-200 cold damage and +10% attack speed, the listed 150-350 damage and 1.54 attack speed include those two modifiers; the base in this case would be 50-100 damage and 1.4 attack speed. Thus, yes, all weapon modifiers except critical hit, critical damage, and primary stat apply to the displayed DPS number (and everything applies to the comparison display).

Stupid question, but for lower level (5-20) rares with some shitty stats, should I just be vending or salvage? No point in holding onto them right?

On the AH I didn't think it showed the gem damage bonus. Damn, I had this in front of me and I started test it but I must have gotten derailed because I don't recall the answer now. Not definitively.

It does make it a chore to have to remove your gems from your current weapon so you can eyeball compare with more accuracy. I've absolutely removed gems from 1 weapon and put gems in another so I could get a more accurate comparison picture. Which is stupid and annoying.

Here's how I think Jag should answer this:

If I were Conan, would I equip this? If the answer is no, then get rid of it.

Alternatively, he could answer it like this:

Assuming I'm the cat hoarding lady from the simpsons, would I hold onto this because it is shiny? If the answer is yes, then get rid of it.

It's an honest question Jag, but since I'm leveling all classes, if I don't feel the urge to immediately equip the item, and I have 10 auctions underway, I tend to salvage yellows. I sell blues by the truck load to vendors.

And I STILL have 1 entire tab filled with yellows, another tab 1/3 filled with yellows, and the last tab 1/2 filled with gems, pages and crafting materials. It's only a matter of time before I riot due to lack of storage. It makes me smile to know that my storage issues are small potatoes compared to yours though, Jag. The suffering of others eases my own.

Vendor anything you don't plan to use or AH. When the commodity auction house comes back up, you'll see that pre-Inferno crafting mats sell for like 20 gold each, so you make more money by vendoring the items and buying whatever mats you need. By this point the blue and yellow crafting mats from Inferno will probably be very cheap as well.

I, on the other hand, have yet to fill up one tab. I guess I probably should hang on to some class-specific rares for my alts, but I typically just say to hell with it and vendor everything. I did get wise and started buying mats from the AH rather than salvaging.

The only things I currently hoard are gems, mats, and items that have some stat trade-off with something I'm wearing to the point I can't bear to get rid of them. I'll probably start using the stash more when I turn my attention towards alts, but for now I'm so focused on my Barb that anything that is not tailored for him I consider expendable garbage.

Duncan's guide to Ah/Vendoring

1. If the stats are wonky, meaning the wrong attribute for the type of weapon has a high stat. Vendor it.
2. If the stats are correct but less than 'holy crap that's good', vendor it. For instance, INT of 90 on a level 55+ item. MEH. Vendor it.
3. If the item has + Resistance to all attributes, take a closer look. If the stats are on the correct attributes and are at least decent... try the AH
4. If the stats are high on the right attributes and it has + Resistance to all attributes, that's the big money. 200+ on Str on a weapon, +150 on a mage hat, anything with large resistance stats like 40+

Legendaries of course AH it. Even if you like them, AH them before the new drops are buffed and you are stuck with an underpowered Butcher's Cleaver, etc.
It's 107 first team All-Americans.
It's a college football record 60 bowl appearances.
It's 34 bowl victories.
It's 23 Southeastern Conference Championships.
It's 15 National Championships.

At some places they play football. At Alabama we live it.

As msd said, they are buffing legendaries, but it won't be retro-active. Only drops from AFTER the patch will be buffed. Sell what you find now, with no remorse.

What's your magic find?

I've found 2 legendaries. :horse: But they were both mediocre. The sold for about 20k each though. Yay, I guess.

My level 28 barb is currently running at more then 80% magic find. I think he's the highest one.

I've noticed around 60% magic find has a big impact. It could be completely random, but once I start climbing past 50% drops start to increase in a noticeable way.
