I'm not entirely convinced the two of you aren't working together (on the imperial side of things). And the more I think about it, quite frankly the more plausible it sounds.

Raven's paranoia comment about Puerto Rico just seems like his way to laugh at me. Given the choice of him or Unagi today, I'd definitely choose him.

As it goes, our direction is still fuzzy and we're about 56 hours out and I'm thinking my vote has found its home unless our backs are against the wall and then I will obviously move my vote to where warpig's vote is.

Why would you do that? What if warpig decides to vote you? Should everyone then follow his lead?

Probably. I've had my say. We'll see which way the wind blows. If it doesn't blow the way I want it to the next best thing is to follow the guy I trust. It's a hell of a lot better than following the convenience of either your or chaosraven's late game set ups.

I was going to comment on that as well, but then I saw a squirrel.

Anyway, on the plus side, we know warpig is a good guy. On the minus side warpig has no (well 99 pages now) experience at this and isn't really the one to be following if you have to follow. I am generally a follower, I read what everyone has to say and decide who has the most convincing argument and history. I don't have the read on people that others too, so I rely on others read. I wouldn't rely on warpigs lead in this game. Even if he was a WW savant he doesn't have any experience with these players, some of whom are smooth-tongued devils and I'm not just talking about Lagom who has been a non-factor in this game.

Speaking of smooth tongued devils, is it logical that c3po would be as obnoxious as Remus was in the early game? It feels like the whole game hinges on whether he is really a bronze god. It gives me some hesitation.

I'm always uneasy when Remus or CR say nice things about it each other. I can't say exactly why, but it creeps me out. I think you two should be banned from talking to each other until each game is completed.

Yikes, such pressure! It reminds me of this time I was swimming in a swamp on Dagobah and almost got eaten by a huge Dragonsnake.

Regardless, I've been hovering between Lagom and Scoop. Lately, I've been leaning more and more towards Scoop, but I'm not positive. Damn. If I'm wrong and we lynch a Reb, I'm going to feel like crap in my rusty innards. On top of all of this, I'm going to visit my parents tomorrow and I'll be gone when the day ends naturally. Internet connection at their cabin in the woods is spotty at best on a 3G connection, so I don't know how active I'll be. I'm feeling like my hand is being forced by fate.

Still, Scoop's actions smack Imp to me, so here goes.

I know Warpig has my best interest at heart. And he nailed newcastle, didn't he? He did it in spite of chaosraven's claim that we must take RMC down. And quite frankly he chose Remus West right before remus came out. Quite frankly I liked his out of left field approach. But then I spend most of my time in left field.

There is also Mr. Bubbles, who comes in says a few words and then leaves.

But I am willing to vote Scoop.

In case you're wondering, I am referring less to Scoop and Grund being silent than Newcastles continued Omission of Scoop.

*snip*

My continued omission ?...one post about noticing people not present out of 23 other people and you're hounding me about 1 person? Ever think i'd be more interested in hearing what the people's opinion of who i mentioned; what they had to say over scoop? (actually i totally forgot about scoop...so in a way thanks for reminding me of him  ) I really need to look through who's playing actually since when I saw LM post, i was thinking "hey get out of our thread here, we're playing!". Yeah this is gonna be a fun one.

Newcastle reminded – and nervous – about Scoop.

Your post mentioned silents. I noted there were three of them.
Your posts, TWICE, mentioned only two of them.

The third is Scoop.

So yes, I was interested in your reasoning for keeping track of who was quiet (and how were you doing that, anyway? With a list?) and yet not including Scoop.

How is it that the various people with only a SINGLE post got crossed off your listremoved from your "quiets"?

More Newcastle/Chaosraven interaction.

Chaosraven wrote:And yes, MY LIST is a Cut n Paste of the PLAYERS, which I delete one by one as I go thru the thread.

With this many people it would indeed be hard to keep track.

Yet NEWC did pretty well (2 of 3) "without knowing"

So my interpretation?

Scoop would be plenty active behind the scenes with NewC, so rather than forgotten, he's accidentally included as the Evil push for QUIETS gets bandied about as someone involved in the discussion.

Youre still hung up on that? I forgot about him pure and simple. OR maybe......

I really wonder why you pointed out Redrun's post. I actually didnt notice it, until I went back and checked it.

1. If he is a good special, you just called him out. Nicely done. You pretty much painted a bullseye on him. Why not keep it hush hush? If he dies at night, then you can point to that post as perhaps he was a special.

2. IF he is evil, why not wait and watch him for another slip. Analysis him a bit more and try to find his friends.

Why point a target on someone, when you really dont know much more about him. 50/50 chance he's good; granted he could be bad. But why not wait? Why call it out like that?

I really think it was a careless move, and more in line that your looking to get someone lynched not a reason to lynch someone.

This logic seems odd. "There isn't a great case for lynching stessier, but I'm going to vote for him anyways, and then vote for the people who suggested it if it doesn't pan out."

Of course, it is odd. But we have to lynch someone.

I think the real odd part is the we have to push for these others if we are wrong... We are very rarely right on day one.. That posts makes me suspect you Theohall not LL and Purge..

But I still like Scoop as a day one lynch. He is off this game.. and when he is off, he is usually evil in my book.

My issue is Lagom Lite and purge are both so absolutely certain stessier is evil. Why are they so certain?? I could easily vote for either of those two right now, also. Or.. we test their subject first and react accordingly.

Hmm, a little flailing here. Looks like theohall already knew the outcome of the stessier lynch.

Newcastle wrote:So I just reread the thread to get a bead on folks; kept track of observations about people as well. Thought I’d share.

1. Isgrimnur --- active – placed a vote my way; not a lot from him, more fluff

2. El Guapo --- highly active; substantial thoughts (one of the few am leaning good on)

3. Qantaga ------active but kind of quiet; darting in and out of conversations; hops on redrun bandwagon; slow start but then perks up some; advocates pushing of redrun

4. RMC ----- active; pokes truicy then joins him in the church mouse competition; wants to vote scoop for not saying much? Kettle meet pot; benefit of doubt for theo’s “forum comment”;

5. Lassr ------- highly active, questioning remus on “CR is good”

6. Mr. Bubbles ----- active, but light contributions

7. Coopasonic ----- weird early comment bout mara jade; says he’s ok to be lynched 1st (why say that with no pressure?); kind of around but not saying much

8. Chaosraven ----dont like his actions; seems looking to get someoen lynched; dont like his pushing redrun up; when pushed about spotlighting the comments, blames LM for finding it but proudly says “I latched on to it like a terrier”. Weird..blaming someone else, then be proud of it.

9. Remus West ----dont like that he's giving CR a free pass; active and explaining his thought process; still don’t like it; but he’s active and probing.

10. Scoop20906 ----No read, zero posting. If this continues past day 2 he needs to be lynched. I'd hate for a silent to be allowed to slip through and be a serious liability in the end game

11. Redrun ------ his villager question is odd; i'd say give him a pass and see what shakes out;

12. Stessier -------not his normal rule monkey self; makes a very weird foxhole comment on purge, is it a test or revealing his perspective;

13. Jow ----------- newbie no read; really need to follow what he says to build up a read on him (same as warpig); makes high school lunch table comment

14. Grundbegriff ------AWOL; am kind of giving him a pass for the moment, betting he'll participate in the future. Dont like it though; respond when he was pushed to 8 by Austin though. Why pipe up then? Is he following the game? Or coincidence that he was reading then.

15. Theohall -------- highly active; i seriously dont like his "forum" comment seems like an evil slip; defends stessier for his foxhole comment

16. Tru1cy --------- truicy is as truicy does; gives a church mouse a run for its money

17. Purge ---------- 2 words; Verbal diarrhea; active probing; massive roles post; actually leaning good in read through so far;

18. Lord Mortis ------- can kind of forgive pointing out redruns "special villager" comment, but don’t like it; bears watching; his volunteer to lynch post seems off and only serves evil really; our specials hide amongst our villagers. “hey I’m impressed by you unagi; you find bad people; I’ll vote your way”; don’t like the follower vibe there, every game is different roles are reshuffled; especially since Unagi as been so off this game.

19. Austin ---------- active; explains the monikers stuff; mostly fluff.

20. Unagi --------- seems off; expect more from him; adds a bit here and there; but very tight lipped.

21. Triggercut -------- again expect more from him; says Grund & Scoop pinging radar..for what? Being quiet? Odd, expect higher standards from him for his radar to ping. I find his explanation lacking

22. Newcastle ------

23. Warpig --------- Newbie, no read; same boat as Jow; really need to pay attention to what he’s saying. At least he’s popping in and talking.

24. Lagom Lite ------ Really low profile; goes after triggercut for his vapid radar of grund & scoop; pushing for stessier for foxhole comment

Thigns that struck me:
-I didn’t like Remus sticking up for CR; and I didn’t like CR’s shining a spotlight on Redrun’s post
-Lots of quiet people who usually aren’t so quiet; feels very strange. Am talking about Unagi, stessier, triggercut. Usually more active and with more substance
-2 super quiet people – scoop & grund; while they haven’t said anything; I assume its busy stuff; giving a pass for now..bears watching.

-theohalls other forum comment really bothers me

-really uneasy w/ the redrun train. Personally I think a laissez faire approach is best. Weird comment to make, weird slip to make. Boneheaded move if he is a special. Interesting move if he is a normal. Doh moment if he is evil. I still have leaning good feel for him though. Really, really don’t like this train. Just seems too opportunistic of folks.

-why don’t we lynch the following: CR, Purge, remus & lassr. Verbal diarrhea is not cool. Upside is we wouldn’t have so many pages to reread at the end when we’re trying to figure things out. I kid…kind of

-a lot of people doing little defenses of people which make me wonder; remus on CR; RMC on theo; theo on stess; intriguing. Might be interesting to probe if there is a relationship there; opening up the “would they really do that or wouldn’t they do that” line of thought.

-quite a few people are making very vapid posts; popping in and agreeing not displaying original thoughts: Austin, qantaga, lagom, rmc, Mr Bubbles.

Both Isgrimnur and Austin gets the “fluff” comment. Scoop needs to be lynched in Newcastle’s opinion.

Austin on Grundbegriff. So is tru1cy, Lassr, Mr Bubbles, coop, the whole bunch.

I think he simply likes as many vote trains as possible on day one, and as such, builds one on himself by staying quiet. If he's at N-2, I really hope Yoda doesn't have his secret vote in on Grund.

Now later, when he does stir the pot and obfuscates things by implying knowledge that are only his guesses... then we should lynch him for being annoying.

Mostly I'm just agreeing with you, except that I'm hoping Yoda isn't hoping on this train... unless he already has, in which case Grund probably is evil.

Am I the only one that reads this as implying he knows Evil has a secret vote rather than just cautioning against the possibility?

I didn't read it that way at first but yeah. Why mention Yoda and not Dooku since Yoda's single secret vote wouldn't enough. It's like he wants to seem helpful and accidentally mentioned something as fact that only evil would know fir sure.

Interesting. My vote stays.

And I wouldnt waste any time on Grund today silent or verbose. No one is going to lynch him on Day One.

An interesting gem, when Grund is at n-2. Evil-Scoop could have added his vote here, letting Dooku push Grund over.

Scoop20906 wrote:Ok. I went back and did some re-reading and now I am kind of torn about the redrun bandwagon. I can see him as both reb or imp at this point depending how I read his posts.

Alright? Right. :D

We’re past the “poking silents” stage of Day 1. Now votes and pushes start to really matter.

Grund checks in, the Grund train dissipates. Lassr and tru1cy withdraws first.

Newcastle plants a vote on theohall instead. Austin votes stessier.

Scoop pops by and starts being Scoopy again.

Lassr votes for Scoop.

The Grund train have lots of suspects on it. In a normal, small WW game I would think the wolves would spread out. This game there are maybe seven of them, which changes the dynamics somewhat. Wolves can actually drive the voting momentum, the only question is if they realize this themselves or if they are playing safe.

* Lassr deliver short, paranoia-inspiring posts. Focused. Don’t like him.
* Lots of effort by Chaosraven. If evil, working very hard.
* Remus is confusing, but verbose. I don’t know about him.
* Too much interaction between Newcastle and CR seems legit. I’m placing CR with the good guys.
* tru1cy silent, hard to read but something seems odd.
* Scoop isn’t his bubbly self. Interesting connection between him and Newcastle places him in good category.
* theohall seems human, and paints favourably on interaction with Newcastle.
* Unagi is more aggressive than usual. Interactions with Newcastle make him seem human.
* coopasonic is under the radar.
* Mr Bubbles is under the radar.
* Isgrimnur connects himself in a disconcerting way to known evils.

I'm not understanding why this claim has been ignored (not by just you, but I was curious as to your reasons for this).

Generally, because only nobodies claim to be nobodies. Evils tend to claim special roles, and generally wait until they are forced. Of course last game I claimed to be a nobody and was evil... very, very evil. Next time I am evil I think I will learn from that experience.

Hmmmm, Austin has been a happy little vote puppy. I'd call that a change in behavior.

Scoop points to Austin.

Austin jokes aorund, Isgrimnur places a joke vote on Austin, then Scoop places a less-jokey vote.

Which is contrary to "If you wait until the last minute to save your own ass, you get what you deserve" unless, of course, what you deserve is to live and push the vote to someone else.

I'm impressed BB that you actually went through the trouble of counting Austin's back & forth vote. Such dedication.

really? I mean it's not like they weren't all placed all at once, right in a row.

BB, I'm not in the least bit impressed. You're going to need to raise the bar a little to impress me. 8-)

Yeah well when someone did it in my last BSG game I just counted the last vote. I viewed it as someone changing their mind before the official vote was cast and I'm lazy...

Lassr points out Austin. But it’s not too convincing. Also misses to include non-voters, which Remus points out.

Plus it'd be kind of nice to Scoop someone. Kind of miss hte feeling. Bonus goody goody feelings if they are evil.

Newcastle mentions Scoop again. That’s it, I’m placing Scoop firmly in the Good guy-bracket. Evils don’t go on about their mates like this.

... Now if they have a coroner and kill our coroner, then that's a potential shitstorm, I guess.

This lays validity to Lord Mortis’ later Special claim. Not only does he have a point, it shows he wouldn’t fake it like that (it was on day 2 he came out right?).

Trying to put CR's explanation in context: Bad guy says, maybe he's the coroner! Austin replies with the quote above. What does the ninja have to do with it?

Austin's explanation:
Austin wrote:If stess doesn't want to out himself, why would I?

I am guessing he's Lando (ninja = sneaky bastard).

It sounds like Austin was being clever and hinting rather than saying and I find that reasonable. cRs explanation isn't from out of nowhere, but Austin's isn't as much of a stretch as trig is indicating.

coop goes on to defend Austin against Chaosraven.

Scoop20906 wrote:My opinion on Stess? If he were an Imp he would have claimed a role by now. He has had plenty of opportunity to. Why would an Imp player not take a shot at it on Day one? I don't know if Stessier is Reb or Imp but it seems unlikely he would wait this long to claim a role.

I think he is just a rebel citizen stuck in a tree.

I have my vote on Austin and his little comment didn't raise my Imp-dar like his vote count has but if we are considering not offing Stess today then I think Austin is a better candidate.

I hate doing lists. But I'll see if I can't parse out some thoughts by later in the week.

Why did you take that as an honorable request rather than as snide mockery of your admittedly low profile?

Because I rarely attribute malice to anyone unless it's deliberately overt. Why are you trying to get a ring of people around Unagi and me shouting "Nerd fight!"?

Isgrimnur is maddeningly consistent. He either steps out, draws suspicion, and then whines that he's not allowed to have a high profile; or he keeps a low profile, draws suspicion, and then complains (totally legitimately) that when he does anything else... well, see above. In this game, there's something jaunty about his demeanor, and it makes me think he's possibly keeping an evil secret and snickering in the corner.

I don't believe that I've ever snickered in my life. And every now and again, I try to break out of the pigeonhole that is the behavior I've adopted after being whacked like a mole for participating at higher levels.

I've been lynched in error by your logic a time or three. Having it happen again wouldn't be out of character for any of us.

The way I see it is Lagom is doing the same thing Newcastle did. He's trying to spin things in the direction he wants. I am 100% convinced that Lagom is a dirty evil bastard!

what?

can you please help me see the thing(s) that you agreed with that Lagom showed? The move off Austin to stessier?

Every lynch needs a kill vote. There were plenty of other good guy votes on stess.

?
I'm not sure what you are saying there. I'm not saying that Scoop's vote on stess is what makes him evil.

I'm asking you what part from Lagom's post made you feel that Scoop was either brilliant or good.

His early game play was very believably good. So he's either playing evil very well or actually good. I think of the two it's more likely he's good. Sorry scoop, no offense intended. ;)

"I don't know," Snufkin replied.

Has Lagom ever done this before?
