Someone on BGG did some number crunching, and came up with the following numbers:

From the Kickstarter:
2,426 copies of the base game, names in the rulebook, and sets of KS promos.
1,789 copies of Atlantik Wall.
1,467 copies of each of the expansion Gott Mit Uns, Normandy and Operation Neptune.

8,616 total game boxes headed to Valley Games.

That will contain, 156,294 D-Day Dice.
Man, that's a lot of dice...

Wow. That's serious starting money.

Not only that, with Kickstarter, that's actually going to be sent, instead of just promises that people will cancel.

Got a UPS update for a delivery on Friday. As this is the only thing I can think of that I'm expecting, here's hoping that it's this.

Why not stick around and play a few rounds?

Why's that? I registered at UPS.com, so every time somebody puts my address on a package, they alert me. And it cost me $5 to reroute the package.

According to the tracking number, so far all they've done is print the label. UPS hasn't even picked it up yet. So if it's going to be here tomorrow afternoon, they better get a move on.

Beats having to respond to the door flyers. There's a UPS store within an hour of my place.

If you're close to the main processing facility, they also have the option to hold it there for no charge. For me, that drive is probably worth $3 in gas and close to an hour trip.

I read over on BGG that something got screwed up with the UPS notifications and that the line for lifers e-mails all got sent to one person. And that some folks have already gotten theirs. I'm hoping that's what happened to mine!

I went in with a buddy at the $125 level, which included two copies of everything. We were gaming Monday over lunch and he started getting email notifications about every 30 seconds...dozens of them. Turns out that he was getting the UPS shipping notifications for a bunch of the other Kickstarter shipments, not just his own. So yeah, there was some weird stuff going on with the shipment emails.

This is the service Isgrimnur was talking about that send you an email when something is headed to your address. It doesn't depend on the shipper getting your email right or sending you a tracking number. Pretty damn cool service that I did not know existed.

(Although we were gone yesterday, and our neighbor usually watches our house for deliveries when we are out. I wonder if she might have it...)

Just spent the afternoon working through the tutorial battle map, learning the ropes and getting into all the mechanics. So far, I'm really impressed. The easiest map is great at teaching the game without being too challenging, but looking at later battle maps is pretty scary. In the end, it's just a simple dice/hand management game, but there are a ton of options when you add Specialists, Items, Vehicles, etc. I'm hoping that the Atlantikwall expansion and the 5th "opposing player" addition really amps it up even further.

The first battle map, "Exercise Tiger", has three tutorial levels you play through to start with - Practice Run, Basic Training, and Advanced Training. The Practice Run only uses soldiers and courage, and we blew through that with little challenge. Basic Training adds specialists and a couple of battle map mechanics, Advanced Training adds everything. It gets significantly more difficult when you're managing not only soldiers and courage but also tools and star results on your dice as well.

I was so close to funding this, but I didn't really know or even understand how kickstarter worked, and didn't trust it. But, yeah...I came so close.

Didn't find out about this until too late for kickstarter. How much of it will I be unable to buy, and are they going to make the expansion available to the unwashed masses? It looks like the base game is pretty sparse while the expansion has all kinds of stuff, based on the pictures.
I can't imagine, even at my most inebriated, hearing a bouncer offering me an hour with a stripper for only $1,400 and thinking That sounds like a reasonable idea.-Two Sheds

I don't think I labeled my pictures so good. :)

The second picture is of the base game. It comes with 8 battlemaps, plus all of the dice and cards that you need to play the game with 4 players. The second picture is of the Atlantikwall suppliment, which adds 2 more battlemaps and rules and cards to allow a 5th player to play the German forces and actively oppose the players storming the beaches. The third picture is of all of the swag that was given out as bonuses for supporting the Kickstarter campaign.

As far as I know, everything will be available for purchase separately except for two small packs of cards they gave out, the K-Pak cards and the Distinguished Service Pack cards, and the set of special "blood spattered" dice. I'm not sure if the tin box and the carry bag and the dice pouches will be available for purchase later or not...it wasn't clear in the descriptions. But the Atlantikwall suppliment, the Machine Gun dice, the Got Min Uns and all of the other expansion map sets will be available to purchase later.

Oh, and with the K-Pak cards and the Distinguished Service Pack cards, I think they ended up with a double sized order on them, so they threw an extra set in all of the Kickstarter boxes. So if anyone here buys the game later and wants a set, let me know and I'll be happy to send you my extra set.

Yeah, apparently UPS really screwed up the e-mailing of the shipping notices. It doesn't sound like it's ever going to get sorted out. Hep, were you a line for life backer? It seems like maybe the higher level backers were packed and shipped first...dunno for sure, that's just my speculation based on the chatter I saw over at BGG.

Two attempts at Omaha Beach, one solo and one four-player, and both times made it to Sector 9 (right before the bunker) before being mowed down. Those last couple of areas are brutal, especially without any items that reduce defense.

Not sure about other folks but I got a shipping notice not from Kickstarter or anything else but cause I'm signed up for "UPS My Choice". Anything coming my way via UPS gets announced... and it was only because of threads like this that I had any clue who "PUBLISHER SERVICES INC" was.

UPS and Fed Ex both have that policy. I always ship to my work so I can never change my delivery options. It especially sucks when I see the arrival date being on a Saturday when the office is closed. They won't let me pick it up. They won't let me change the location their shipping to. They just insist on sending a driver and then bouncing the delivery.

But I'll continue to ship to work. I hate the idea of no being home to sign for a package and then having it get stolen or bounced to someplace I can't get to during work hours.
