1000+ by Steam's count (DLC and everything) meaning really about 700. In a year.

Max Payne 3 and LA Noire Complete -- $9.99
Both require STEAM and would cost you ~$17.50 to purchase separately.

I think I'm reaching a gaming turning point at 44. I have no interest in buying Max Paine 3, Van Helsing, Hitman or any other decent new game that I would normally play. I'm playing the hell out of Neverwinter just until I level my character, then I may actually hit a gaming doldrum.
I guess I need to see how the Steam sale hits me.

I've got a few on my radar - Dishonored, Dark Souls being my top two. Unfortunately Amazon ran out of keys for Dark Souls at $7.50 and I'm not sure they'll be getting any back in.

FYI - picked this up and found that SLI causes issues with the menu system they use, most of it doesn't show up unless you disable it.LawBeefaroni wrote:Book of Unwritten Tales is $5/$6.75 Deluxe.

Borderlands Bundleganza -- $22 for a copy of Borderlands 2, A GotY edition of the original, and the Borderlands 2 Season pass. (all require STEAM)
It's likely going to be this price or cheaper during the STEAM sale, but if you want to play it NOW, $22 is the cheapest it's ever been for everything (I think).

I picked up Assassin's Creed 3 at Gamefly yesterday for less than $11. I have a feeling I'll be spending no money on the Steam sale this year because their competitors beat them to the punch. The only games I have left on my wish list is Dishonored and possibly Borderlands 2.

For a big event, I don't see jack squat on sale. Maybe it's not working yet? What do you see good? I see a lot of codes that aren't even discounted. Usually there is some base discount on a ton of stuff, right?

That's by far the best price I've seen... Is it a Steam code? Looks like amazon has a code for $13 right now. Tempting...YellowKing wrote:I picked up Assassin's Creed 3 at Gamefly yesterday for less than $11.

Unfortunately not a Steam code - uPlay - but for the price I couldn't resist. I used a code to get the $13 price on Gamefly down to $10 and change - GFDJUN20

Yeah, it can be a bit overwhelming with all the choices. You will eventually get companions that cover most of the basic classes, so don't stress too much on your own class.Ralph-Wiggum wrote:Jag wrote:Drakensang River of Time was a great RPG. Just finished it. Worth $2.99.

So it's not that it isn't up yet, it's that it's unremarkable so far besides the same Borderlands and Indie deals that have been up, + Paradox we see every time, + a bit of Ubi.
And no, I don't want to be that guy who says a sale sucks because I already have everything. I'm not saying it sucks, but if that list is to be believed, then there is no sale on Aliens or Far Cry, and Bioshock, Grid 2, and Metro only get 1/3 off. And those are AAA franchises.

Re: [Amazon Digital] Ongoing Sales
I can better appreciate why STEAM only puts up ~20 sales a day as part of their promotion. It's not that I don't appreciate what Amazon has done, but it's overwhelming.
My only recommendation based on that list is for the Samantha Swift games. I grabbed them all last summer as part of a sale and slowly released them to our daughter (then 6.5) over the summer on rainy days. They're not difficult by any means (hidden object games), but they would keep her entertained. I grabbed a bunch more of the hidden object games this past Xmas during a similar sale, but I can't recommend any more as they're sitting untouched on her computer. She gets that from me.

Re: [Amazon Digital] Ongoing Sales
Not to split hairs, but Steam puts almost their entire catalog on sale at once. The 20 or so a day are only deeper deals, and then the games are back to "regular" sale price. Yes, Amazon is confusing, and I've never understood why their search and sort are so spotty.

Re: [Amazon Digital] Ongoing Sales
That's true. I guess I meant to say (as you pointed out) I think STEAM does a better job at showcasing particular deals each day, whereas Amazon throws up a storefront with ~800 games on sale (and associated DLC) all at once with no particular highlighting other than you can count on them being that price for ~2 weeks.

Re: [Amazon Digital] Ongoing Sales
I will say that for the three of you who maybe don't already have Civ 5 and XCOM, the upcoming $20 bundle is a decent way to go, but not that surprising given recent sales and price drops. The one thing on that list that Steam may not beat (from my wish list) is $6 for Baldur's Gate Enhanced, on that schedule for the last day of the sale.
Well, it's a good thing, since my only money is already in my Steam wallet. I'm surprised not to see more sales on games that drop cards. Can Amazon be that out of touch with that metagaming madness?

I was going to ask about some of those kids games. I wanted to pick something up for my 9yr old son, but he's more of a Just Cause/Minecraft kind of kid. Not sure if the girly ones will grab his attention.Smoove_B wrote:I can better appreciate why STEAM only puts up ~20 sales a day as part of their promotion. Mount and Blade Warband is $4.99. Never tried the M&B games. Demo was kind of fun.

Based on that list, it looks like Amazon is reserving the "big" games for possible Steam sale price matching/bettering.

Judging by the amount of decimal places in the prices, probably some sort of affiliate API where catalog can be sorted / extracted and upcoming sales announced.JetFred wrote:Where do they get this from?!Jag wrote:BTW, master Amazon Steam Sale list here:
