How are we on the ol' "keeping OO afloat, financially", front?

Any current or pending needs?

Earnings to date are about $500 since Jan 1, which more or less covers the costs of the server. I do need to do some cleanup on our cloud backup site as I was warned it's getting full (it's not rolling automatically for some reason so I need to SSH in and clean it up manually once in a blue moon).

I wish we would get some kind of message from Amazon when the click through succeeds, and how much you just earned your recipient.

oooh wow! Love the red lettering to help support OO. Funny how one change can make a difference.

BTW, we will be sending in a donation before the end of the month. We are going to do a yearly (self imposed) dues to OO. We will still go though Amazon but want to add more.

When I clicked on the OO link at the top, I was redirected to this page:
http://www.amazon.com/ref=nb_sb_noss_null" target="_blank

That doesn't look good. It COULD be my work's ad blocker (won't let me follow any sponsored links in google searches), but usually that just blocks the page, not redirect me to another page.

FWIW, I use this link for my Amazon purchases

The one I have bookmarked is:

http://www.amazon.com/b?_encoding=UTF8& ... ative=9325" target="_blank

which is the same as the one in the link at the top of the page.

For whatever reason when I click on the link on the top of the page I get redirected to

http://www.amazon.com/ref=nb_sb_noss_null" target="_blank

But I don't when I click on your link.

I have the same link you do, and all my stuff has shown up on those occasions when the 'bought' list has been posted here.

What skin are you guys using for the forum under chrome? Perhaps I screwed up a link in one of the templates.

I'm using Chrome on a mac and it works peachy keen in Black Pearl (as it does in Safari and Firefox).

Yeah, I use the silver skin so the page doesn't stand out as being obviously not business if someone sees it on my screen during business hours.

You know, I think this may have been borked for a while. I tested it and I never remember seeing that address string before, all I saw was the string with "null" in it. But it took me to a page specializing in video and PC games on amazon, so I thought it was working. You may have been missing out on my filthy lucre.

A number of people have been submitting Donations, and all of them for the most part coming in with real names (so I won't call them out specifically here). People have donated anywhere from $10 to $100, and it's all appreciated. I just took all of those donations and purchased 3 months worth of service from OVH which was about $270 bucks which will take us to around the end of December. Appreciate the help everyone.

Code: Select all

Sep 16, 2013 Payment To OVH.com	Completed	Details Payment To OVH.com -$267.81 CAD
Sep 16, 2013 Authorization To OVH.com	Completed	Details Authorization To OVH.com -$267.81 CAD
Sep 16, 2013 Transfer (credit) To Canadian Dollar Balance From U.S. Dollar	Completed	Details Transfer (credit) To Canadian Dollar Balance From U.S. Dollar $197.70 CAD
Sep 16, 2013 Transfer (debit) From U.S. Dollar Balance To Canadian Dollar	Completed	Details Transfer (debit) From U.S. Dollar Balance To Canadian Dollar -$196.62 USD
Some donations were in USD but I've changed the link over for donations to be sent in CAD, however donations in any currency are appreciated and can be used!

Currently showing about $200 in quarterly commission from Amazon at the end of Sept (takes another 3 weeks or so to get a cheque from them) which will then take us to say February. Not to mention if you guys use the links (now that they are working in all profiles.. *cough*) for your holiday shopping we may be able to get right into the spring/summer of 2014!

I'll have to take a look at it.. I think you're the first person to ever use it (which means unless you buy shitloads there, we won't get commission from it). I'm Canadian and 99% of the stuff I buy online comes off Amazon.com where possible -- .ca has a pretty crappy selection.

.ca Link fixed. Looks like it was sort of working, but Quarter earnings were only 2-3 bucks, they won't send a cheque out for that amount. Not sure if that's due to link, or there aren't enough Canadian purchases.

I think people have established that a preloaded cart won't give appropriate credit. Meal said he adds things to wishlist, then clicks through and moves them to the cart.

Yeah, to be safe I empty my cart, close browser, and re-open with the OO link.

If it's <5 items or so I don't bother with the wishlist but if it's a lot, I will go that route.

Waiiit a minute. So we can "MOVE TO CART" stuff from "SAVED FOR LATER" and OO will still get credit? I base that assumption on the fact that someone mentioned that you can transfer from a wish list.

I ask because I tend to keep lots, and I mean LOTS of stuff in my SAVED FOR LATER section of the cart since you get price alerts on it (something that you don't get if you use the wishlist).

I don't know if that works. Maybe it does, maybe it doesn't. Like I said, to be safe I put stuff I want to buy in my cart. Then I cut and paste the list of stuff in my card to notepad, then I empty my cart and close the browser. I go through the OO link and then paste stuff into the search bar and add to cart and then purchase.

Since I rarely purchase more than a handful of things in one go this works out fine for me.

I just did this for two boxes of cat litter. Be interesting to see if it shows up for OO.

Edit - And dishwashing detergent.
