Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
Yeah.. to me the percentages are just window-dressing. It's not like there is anything sacrosanct about the "regular" price. How "regular" is a price when almost no one ever pays it?TheMix wrote:You probably won't find better holiday prices than 80% off.
So what you really need is the regular price to drop. I've personally totally lost any feel for how those kinds of price changes happen...
So I gave in and bit. Didn't hurt that I have a bunch of $$ in my wallet.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
I would recommend Breach and Clear at that $5.99 week long deal price point. I put about four hours into it this summer and found it to be rather enjoyable. It plays quick and the random nature of enemy behavior and location makes for good replay.
Maybe next year, maybe no go

I just picked up MX vs ATV Reflex earlier this afternoon for $1.99 USD and it's a blast. Run fine on Win7 64bit at 1920x1200.

I'm pondering. Of course, my Steam wallet doesn't have enough to pick it up with the DLC.Smoove_B wrote:I would recommend Breach and Clear at that $5.99 week long deal price point. Really? You put Shadowrun on sale, but not the DLC?
I've been waiting for Dragonfall to drop. Seems like this would have been a perfect time......ugh.

They're not going to cannibalize the sales they want from the stand-alone Director's Cut that drops in two days.

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
If you mean that -75% doesn't mean much if the base will drop, so later -75% will be better, I guess I agree, although most regular prices have dropped as far as they are going to drop by the time they get to -75%. But if you mean -50% may be good enough, go for it, then to me obviously it means it will go even lower soon enough. I wish Steam let you sort by discount rather than by price. I'm sure some of the enhanced third-party plug-ins allow it.PLW wrote:Yeah.. to me the percentages are just window-dressing. It's not like there is anything sacrosanct about the "regular" price. I'm thinking you mean voilà. Don't forget that accent on the final letter
I love that Steam database for sales. It really is the best way to scan for the best prices. I start at the top but stop myself when I reach the end of the 75% off items; I'm just not going to pay more than that unless it's a new release that I just have to get. Unless, of course, I'm weak...

Thoughts on Rise of Venice at $6.24? The metascore is 66 so I'm leery, but I liked Port Royale 3 and Patrician IV from the same folks. Anyone have hands-on experience?

Re: Steam's Deals of the Day/Weekend/Midweek
Steam did a "music player" update, showing all of your soundtracks under your library tab, and then put up all of the Valve soundtracks for free. You have to add each one separately. HL, HL2, HL2ep1, HL2ep2, Portal, Portal 2.
