OBSOLETE -- [WW] Danger Zone! -- OBSOLETE
Here is your ARCHER-themes Werewolf game! I've never run one before, but I'm ready to give it a go.
The two teams are ISIS and the Assassins. ISIS has three specials (technically 4, but Cheryl is actually a liability). There are 2 assassins.
ISIS Specials:
Sterling Archer -- "Are we seriously not doing phrasing?"
The world's greatest secret agent, probably. (1) You automatically survive the first attempt to lynch OR assassinate you. This power resembles Barry's. (2) Rampage: if you are alive after *both* Lana and Katya are eliminated, you gain the one-time power (available from the following night) to eliminate one player during a night turn. Players are told only that the target was eliminated. (If Barry is the target, he survives--and Archer is told--if this is the first attempt against him.)
Lana Kane -- "Since when is babysitting Archer my j -- oh my God, that's exactly my job."
Expert operative. Every night you choose a player to protect from assassination, not yourself and never the same twice in a row. Your death (with Katya's) ignites Archer's Rampage power.
Malory Archer -- "Well then you better nut up!"
Head of ISIS. Every night you scan another player's alignment. (Conway Stern, if scanned, shows as ISIS rather than an assassin.)
Cheryl Tunt -- "You're not my supervisor!"
Big mouth. If you are eliminated, the assassins learn the specific role of a living ISIS player, chosen randomly.
ISIS Regulars:
Cyril Figgis -- "Jeezy-petes!"
Comptroller and sex addict. No power.
Pam Poovey -- "Damn dog! That's Inappropes!"
Human Resources. No power.
"Dr." Algernop Krieger -- "It's a proprietary blend."
Experimental drugs. No power.
Ray Gillette -- "Dukes!"
Future cyborg. No powers.
Woodhouse -- "I shall fetch a rug."
Faithful manservant. No powers.
Brett Bunsen -- "God damn it, [insert name of whoever shot him]!"
Bullet magnet. No powers.
Assassins:
Barry Dylan -- "Barry, does this make up for Framboise? It does, Other Barry. It sure does."
Relentless cyborg. Just like Archer, you will survive the first lynch against you. The second lynch attempt succeeds.
Katya Kazanova -- "This man, Sterling Archer, is the world's most dangerous spy. And he is the man I will marry."
Beautiful cyborg. Once per game, you can declare that the night assassination will ignore Lana's protection. Your death (with Lana's) ignites Archer's Rampage power.
[Conway appears only if there are more than 12 players in the game:]
Conway Stern -- "You, uh, see something you like?"
One step ahead. You show up as ISIS if scanned by Malory.

Re: [WW] Danger Zone! (Archer) -- RECRUITING
ADDITIONAL RULES AND CLARIFICATIONS:
Please remember these rules.
--Voting is settled as soon as a true majority is reached; no takebacks. If no true majority is reached by the time limit, plurality counts as majority. If there is a tie at the time limit, no lynch occurs. Time limits will be announced well beforehand, but may vary depending on weekends, holidays, etc.
--The ISIS team is divided into Specials and Regulars. While the Regulars have named roles (e.g. Pam, Ray, etc.), these players are *forbidden* from identifying themselves by name. You may only openly claim a role if it's a Special, since claiming a Regular name makes it that much harder for the assassins to hide. You can say "I'm an ISIS agent" but not "I'm just Cyril." (Thanks to Stessier for this observation.)
--Note also that anyone can call themselves an "ISIS agent" (or "villager" or "good guy" or whatever) even if, thematically, they are not an agent in the show. Even Woodhouse went on a mission.
[In fact, at the last minute, I have decided to send out ISIS regular roles without unique names attached. The names in the list exist only in the list.]
--If you have direct questions for the moderator, please bold them in red text so I'll be sure to see them.
Or PM me.
--Any flavor text I give is just that. Don't look for hints or confirmations in it.
--An earlier version of the rules indicated that Archer's power could "ignore any protection." This was left over from even earlier rulesets in which Lana might not be the only protector. I have eliminated the ambiguity. Katya's power was also to "ignore any protection," which in the current rules means Lana's. These powers do NOT bypass Barry's or Archer's power to survive a first lynch or assassination.

That's no reason to cry. One cries because one is sad. For example, I cry because others are stupid, and that makes me sad.

I was under the impression that this is the norm--I wasn't trying to make a new dogma. Since I'm new at this, and I didn't make the rule out of any strong conviction, I'm perfectly willing to strike it. Is there any reason not to, anyone?

My understanding of the norm (though I'm not sure I've seen this discussed in any semi-definitive way) is that the lynchee can keep talking until the mod posts the VOTING IS CLOSED and resolution thereof. I typically visualize this as talking on your way to the noose.Holman wrote:I was under the impression that this is the norm--I wasn't trying to make a new dogma. I don't care about this nearly as much as Newcastle seems to, but I do agree with his position (and think that's the typical procedure).

Alrighty. I'd still love to get another player (for 8 ISIS and 2 assassins), or even more. If there are 13 players, we get 3 assassins.
