You're far too trusting, GamingTrend is too remote to make an effective demonstration - but don't worry; we will deal with your rebel friends soon enough.
"Where are you off to?"
"I don't know," Snufkin replied.
The door shut again and Snufkin entered his forest, with a hundred miles of silence ahead of him.

Thanks. So for the first round is it just a random person we lynch? Is there some sort of strategy other than never trust newcastle?

Day 1 is always a crapshoot, especially if that's the start, what with no information to go on.

My rule is that Remus is always a good target for a night kill. If he survives too long, it's usually because he's evil.

Yeah, the way you build up reliable information over time is that via lynches and night kills you find out known information about particular players, then you examine how other (living) players interacted with them, and who voted for whom (and when). Also over time some players will claim roles (truthfully or otherwise) and supply additional information.

But on day 1, there's really nothing reliable to go on, so usually we thrash around randomly, someone says something that sounds vaguely incriminating if you squint, we almost lynch them, they reveal themselves to be the Seer, and then we lynch some other random villager.

The slip up is the "something that sounds vaguely incriminating if you squint." It's something we do, but I don't recall a time when a slip up actually revealed something useful. Usually it just provides a reason to finally pick a day 1 lynch.

Daytime start with no information with only witty banter being tossed around I'm a bit perplex on how to vote at the moment. Anyway, I'll continue to monitor but lets be honest here we'll most likely end up voting to the person that isn't participating as much to get rid of the distraction.

One guy pretty much accidentally incriminated himself, sucks he's the new guy but it's a fairly strong case against him (better than a random person, though I agree lynching silent players is a good idea).

It's really not a fairly strong case, nor do I really think that he (Punisher I'm assuming is who you are referring to) actually incriminated himself. He was just throwing out Star Wars lines.
