Looking for NES cartridges

Post by hitbyambulance »

Got a Retron 3, so I'm wanting the following games, on the off-chance anyone has them and wants to sell:

Super Mario Bros. (launch title)
Balloon Fight (launch title)
Clu Clu Land (launch title)
Excitebike (launch title)
Ice Climber (launch title)
Kid Icarus
Metroid

already have: Pinball, Legend of Zelda, SMB 2, SMB 3, Dr. Mario, Snake Rattle N Roll, RC Pro Am and Solar Jetman.

i found out that if one gets a Famicom-to-NES pin adaptor, one can get Japanese FC carts for a a fraction of the price of US NES versions.

(example: the US version of Clu Clu Land was selling on eBay for $26 minimum. JP versions were under $5 - the one i got was all of $1.98 including shipping)

i'm only looking now for Metroid and Kid Icarus - the JP versions of both are floppy discs, not carts.

What is the fair market value of NES cartridges? I'm sure I could find mine at my mothers house but it is quite a distance away. I know I had Mario Bros (with duck hunt) and Excitebike.

Anywhere from 50 cents to $40,000. It's a collector's market, so it varies wildly based on rarity, condition, and extras (box, inserts, etc.) Mario/Duck hunt was the pack-in with every console, so maybe five bucks.

This is usually where I go to get a general idea:

https://www.pricecharting.com/en/console/nes

I have about 80 carts and I periodically go through this site to see how much my collection is worth.
