Rudy's on the job.
How do you prep and draft a counter-report for something you shouldn't be aware of? Is it just 45 pages of "Mueller is a poopie-butt. He smells like old man farts. I'm the best." ... ?
I fully expect "NO U!!!" written in purple crayon on WH letterhead.

Rudy is probably fully aware of all the crimes Trump committed and can write his rebuttal without waiting for the finished report.

That would be hilarious. It ends up trying to defend him against things that weren't known like a child digging a deeper hole while trying to stay out of trouble.

The government's sentencing recommendations for Michael Cohen are out. They suggest several years in prison, and tacitly state that Cohen committed campaign finance violations (aka felonies) upon direction of Individual-1.

Here's Tareeq with a sobering reminder:

some notes after reading both Cohen documents:

The footnote in the NY document states that he did not fully cooperate with the NYAG office":
At the time that Cohen met twice with this Office, through his attorneys, he had expressed that he
was considering – but not committing to – full cooperation. Cohen subsequently determined not to fully
cooperate.
Cohen’s provision of information to the Office of the New York Attorney General (“NY AG”)
warrants little to no consideration as a mitigating factor. This Office’s understanding is that the information
Cohen provided was useful only to the extent that he corroborated information already known to the NY
AG. More importantly, Cohen provided information to the NY AG not as a cooperating witness who was
exposing himself to potential criminal or civil liability but instead as a witness who could have been
compelled to provide that testimony. Fulfilling that basic legal responsibility voluntarily does not warrant
a reduced sentence – particularly when one waits until he is charged with federal crimes before doing so.
From the Special Counsel’s Office:
in or around November 2015, Cohen received the contact information for, and spoke
with, a Russian national who claimed to be a “trusted person” in the Russian Federation who could
offer the campaign “political synergy” and “synergy on a government level.” The defendant
recalled that this person repeatedly proposed a meeting between Individual 1 and the President of
Russia. The person told Cohen that such a meeting could have a “phenomenal” impact “not only
in political but in a business dimension as well,” referring to the Moscow Project, because there is
“no bigger warranty in any project than consent of [the President of Russia].” Cohen, however,
did not follow up on this invitation.3…

…The defendant explained that he did not pursue the proposed meeting, which did not take
place, in part because he was working on the Moscow Project with a different individual who
Cohen understood to have his own connections to the Russian government.
Interestingly enough, there is nothing further regarding work with that other individual (as yet).

So putting the hypothetical cart way, way ahead of the horse here but let's say Trump is indicted and jailed for this. Or impeached and then kicked out of office. Do all the Qanon and Turner Diaries and other assorted alt-right nutjobs finally get their chance to go to war? Will they try their own Jacobite rebellion to get Bonnnie Prince Donald the Trump throne back?

Maybe. I don't think you can predict what they'll do accurately. What is almost certain is it'd be used as cover for the GOP to further abuse power and or change the rules in their favor when they can.

There's a lot. From some real shady shit surrounding a story about child porn he wrote to weird cover-ups over posting a screen shot with a tab open to really hardcore tentacle porn to his weird tweeting style to his combative attitude to being dishonest in his Twitter bio about where he's actively employed.

Financial crimes might have been his forte at one point but, for me, he falls into the Seth Abramson realm of people who aren't as smart as they think they are and should be generally ignored.

I don't know him from Adam, so I can only rely on what I thought was his field of knowledge. I'd need a real bean-counter to explain whether or not he's made the realistic representation of the information.

To me, that's like Seth Abramson's schtick, where he claims once won a murder trial, so he is capable of connecting all the Trump/Russia legal dots. And people buy it.

Looking like the Russian spy has now flipped.
Federal prosecutors and defense attorneys may have reached a plea deal in the criminal case against gun rights activist and alleged Russian agent Maria Butina.

In a joint filing Monday, the parties asked the federal district court judge overseeing the case to set a plea hearing at the court’s earliest convenience.

“The parties have resolved this matter, and the Defendant Maria Butina remains in custody,” they wrote.

The parties asked for the plea hearing to be held on either Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday of this week.
Having this shitstorm potentially splatter all over the NRA is just icing on the cake.
