If California builds a wall to keep tRump out I will have to seriously look into moving there. I'd support a GoFundMe to build that wall.

I just had a brilliant idea. Now, stay with me here. It's pretty sophisticated. But what if, what if mind you, we built a giant trophy wife out of wood, hid inside it and had it rolled up the wall? Drumpf would be so excited by the idea of a new, younger, more wooden wife and have it brought inside the wall, and then we'd be inside too. Do you understand? Do you follow me? Wall defeated.

Heh, it took me half way to realize this isn't a wickerman reference. Thought you were going a whole different direction.

Re: FEMA funds.

Geee nice state you've got there. Be a pity if anything happened to it. Now if you want FEMA to help in future you might might want to make a voluntary donation to the trump widows and orphans fund. We have lists of patriots you know.

Yeah the type of fire that you’d find on, say, a tiki torch.

I’m surprised that Herr Trump didn’t insist on a border wall requirement with FEMA disbursements.

A mob of 10,000 Central American migrants is marching through Mexico and heading toward El Paso, Texas. Mexican border agents attempted to stop them at the Mexican border, but to no avail.

The wall must be built. The wall will keep America safe and strong. Only then will we be able to help those in need.

Today's 29 one-liners. In ONE sitting.

5. "I'm a professional at technology."

6. "When during the campaign I would say, 'Mexico's going to pay for it,' obviously I never said this and I never meant they're going to write out a check."

12. "And they don't come in at the checkpoints, which they do also."

I was reading a book called the Skeptics Guide to the Universe (same guys who do the podcast), and it was describing a condition that summed Trump up perfectly. I can't remember the name at the moment, but it's the phenomenon whereby the more incompetent you are, the more competent you *think* you are.

They went into some fascinating detail as to why this occurs (and it happens to everyone to some degree). But in short, it's based on the idea that if you're incompetent in some subject, you are more likely to draw on false/misleading facts about that subject you've never questioned (because you're incompetent). Over time, you build a vast database of "knowledge" that is incorrect that leads you to believe you know more about the subject than you actually do.

I explained it far less eloquently than they did, but the whole time I'm reading it I was like "My God, that's EXACTLY what's going on here." Combine that with narcissism and pathological lying, and Trump is a perfect storm of psychological bad news.

Dunning-Kruger effect. Trump is so far at the extremes he probably disproves it or something.

I wouldn't count on it being off the table. Aside from the fact that anything that Trumps says is as likely to be a lie as not, there's the possibility that he's trying to establish a narrative where he doesn't want to declare a state of emergency, but the Democrats are forcing him to do it.

His dragging his feet and saying maybe I will, maybe I won't about declaring an emergency probably makes it hard to convince a court to rule in his favor if he does declare one. Which may very well be the idea.
