How is a great white "gentle"?
Honest question: are sharks rapacious all the time, or do they only attack when hungry or threatened?
I've seen enough footage of divers swimming with sharks to believe it might be the latter. Maybe a shark that's sated and confident of its food supply can actually (if temporarily) be gentle?
I think gentle implies activity. A shark not doing anything is not gentle, only passive. I guess they swim gently. Sorta. They only do 2 things though, and one of those things is tearing to pieces and eating other living things, so it's hard to imagine sharks are gentle. They are either eating you alive or they aren't. They aren't babysitters in their spare time.
Shrug. Words are used to create a narrative, and ever since Jaws the narrative has been scary man eating monsters. I'm not surprised scientists use words like "gentle" to try to change the narrative.
Meh. Gentle or not, I'm not voluntarily getting in the water with a large shark nearby. It just ain't happening, intellectually understanding that I am unlikely to be eaten or no.

The internet told me that great whites don't hunt humans and might find our flesh unpalatable. When they do bite us, it's because we're in the way or being threatening, and even then they rarely chow down. Also, individual sharks have distinct personalities, and professional divers know the "nice" ones from the edgier ones. Also, sharks are not mindless eating machines; they only hunt when they're hungry.
That's still a big Nope to me, but these divers believed that they were safe (as indeed they were).

Lots of sharks, I've heard, are actively inquisitive and can learn from experience. This shark, if it's over 50+ years, has seen some shit. It likely knows what people are and hasn't had any reason to either fear us or think we're delicious.
Some sharks love a good nose rub. I imagine it's hard to get good exfoliation in the ocean.

Is there a spot in LGBTQETC for a Gen X that identifies as a millennial in spirit but whose body identifies as a Boomer?
I see the Millenials as a shot at redemption and I embrace their rejection of napkins and razors and the pursuit of large housing and desire to have good cheese. I envy the DIY movement and the envy the generational shedding of many of the social mores we accepted. May they not become jaded and lose themselves as we did.
I don't, however, give two shits about craft beer, even if it is an expression of DIY.
My mind is 25 (Donna said 12) and my body is 70 but Im 49. Ill be 50 come May. I would NEVER give up my GenX status. I love the moniker. And I love that we have the best music ever from the 70s, 80s, 90s.

Apparently the latest offering at boutique dog grooming salons is testicle glitter. I guess this is the haute couture answer to Truck Nutz.

See, now it's gonna look weird when I do it. That's kinda bullshit.

Not silly just cute......must post something cute or I'll burst. Donna wanted one like this. Said she'd keep it in the house and let it sleep in the bed. I told her I hope she had a good scooper.

Mordor Tattoo is part of a complex that used to include the Shire Cafe. Now it's the Mirkwood public house. It's vegan/vegetarian, LoTR themed, and only 45 miles away, and I've still never gone. I am bad.

No, you are not. You are wise.
