They did a pre release 50% off deal from a redhook recommendation. I picked it up then from my love of Darkest Dungeon. I was underwhelmed, even for $13. It hearkens back to Diablo but it's not nearly as good as, say, picking up Diablo II or Torchlight II again.

Wonder if Call of Duty WWII is worth $23 for single player only. First price drop since release.
I got it for Christmas with a new Xbox a year ago. I had never played a Call of Duty game, but had heard great things and was happy to jump in. I played for about 4 hours and never went back. It just wasn't particularly fun and felt too much on rails for my liking. I apparently prefer more open world games like Borderlands.

Which is the only reason I purchased it - for my LAN party gaming (ask your parents). However, even there, it fizzled. I don't know what style of MP gaming the CoD franchise features now (and I guess has for a long time) - high adrenaline/twitch combat maybe? I'm not sure, but it's just not for me. Our LAN group played it for one event and promptly dumped it to go back to playing Insurgency.
Yeah, I've been buying them when they hit about the $10 mark which is very rare for COD games. I love the WWII setting so I would consider paying a bit more for this one, but I think i'll hold off and not add to my substantial backlog.
I've looked in to them and the Romance of Three Kingdoms titles and they've always seemed to expensive. The sales don't every seem to align that expense either. But I still have such a warm spot for these games going to back the the NES at a friend's house. Not too long ago I think I said Nintendo Pro Wrestling was all I could go back and do on the NES. I need to revise that. Nintendo Pro Wrestling, Wizardry and Noabunga's Ambition/Romance of the Thee Kingdoms are all I could back and do on the NES.
