Holy crabcakes.
I still install and play these periodically. I'm looking forward to a revamp.

Whoa. This might be the only RPG (the original) that I've played start to finish twice - just to see the Malkavian story. I'm quite interested in following along. Also, seeing release dates for 2020 is...weird.

This looks cool and it has inspired me to patch the first one and play. I've owned it forever and never did.

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
speaking as a resident of said city, this sounds fantastic. this duality and conflict is omnipresent in my life (home and work) and among my friends and acquaintances for years now, and i'm excited to see how it is treated here.Mitsoda explained that the main attraction for them was that there are really two Seattles, one that’s all music and culture, and one that’s big business and trillion dollar companies.
“A lot of the story is really about taking the real world issues of Seattle trying to keep its identity,” he said. “But also changing for the 21st century, and the conflict brought into the game between the factions representing that.”

Loved the first one. I actually finished it when it was new when it was supposedly filled with game stopping bugs. Too bad this didn't come out last year so I coulda played it. At least had it on a wishlist somewhere. Dont care now but Im glad they did finally make a sequel.

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
The emphasis in the trailer and interviews was way too much on combat and v-powers. It will probably be a Batman-people pleaser.
The original’s cult status came from the trinity of complex alter-ego development through interesting dialog choices, a multitude of unique, fully-voiced characters, and story twists so memorable you didn’t need to consult a journal. Bloodlines has so much more in common with Planescape: Torment - without doing all the reading.
They’ll be on the right track if they continually ask themselves: What would a society of sociopaths look like? (Hitler’s SS was definitely concerned with bloodlines)
I’ll sign up early if it also includes a VATS-style combat option, and at least fifty possible endings.

Jesus said, "Do not be afraid of those who kill the body but cannot kill the soul. Rather, be afraid of the One who can destroy both soul and body."[Matt 10:28] God can totally destroy us.
Jesus also said, "For my Father's will is that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in him shall have eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day.”[John 6:40] Eternal life is conditional.
His disciple John wrote, "Whoever has the Son has eternal life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have eternal life. [1 John 5:12] Eternal life is optional.

I played the original and I understand the love for it but I'm surprised how many OO'ers are buying the game virtually sight unseen. Sure the original was great and it's a fantastic world but still . . . so little is really known, there's no way I'm buying the game at this point.

The Ocean House Hotel level in Vampire: The Masquerade and the Shalebridge Cradle level in Thief: Deadly Shadows still stand out as my favorite moments in gaming since they scared the crap out of me.
also: March 2020?
Sounds like a damn kickstarter.
edit: this is a Paradox game? Wow, they're really breaking out of their comfort zone these days!

Despite my not liking the latter third or so of the first game very much, I am very interested in this. I found the lore interesting and thought that the game was a lot of fun particularly in the beginning few missions.

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
I think the Vampire: The Masquerade systems are trying to make a push back to relevance.
Over the weekend I felt nostalgic and went to look for Vampire: Jyhad cards (back in 1994, this was a fun Vampire card game), and bumped into the news that a new publisher had acquired the rights to the card game and was starting to distribute promo materials to game shops.

I just noticed that Paradox has set up a Youtube playlist for Bloodlines 2. It looks like they will be releasing a series of reveal videos for the playable clans, starting with the one that we already know, the Thinbloods.

As mentioned in the PC Gamer article, there was a Twitch devchat to discuss the Brujah clan. Going forward, they will being doing one per week on Wednesdays to cover each of the remaining playable clans in turn.

They mentioned a "limited" clan release. I'd bet good money on additional clans being part of whatever DLC they have planned.

Does anyone else think the name stinks? Why on Earth call this Bloodlines 2?
Every time I think of it, it cries out for a finisher, such as:
Vampire the Masquerade: Bloodlines 2: the Blood-ening!
Or something like that

Re: Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2
Marketing insisted. The "original" Bloodlines was hailed as the best Vampire RPG of its time - and probably since. The name needs to carry over for the simple purpose of brand recognition.
... or maybe it's a "20 years later" continuation of the last story? I know there was no story carry-over from Redemption and Bloodlines.

Redemption was a completely different Dev, publisher AFAIK. Fun game though. Grabbed me more than bloodlines to start.

That looks pretty nuts - though releasing it around the same time as CyberPunk 2077 is a bold choice. I'm guessing they both hoping the other one slips.
