It looks a lot like wildlands, but the enemy soldiers are stronger and have Jon Bernthal and drones on their side. There are four character classes. Players can suffer severe injuries that hobble them and must be adapted to. 1-4 player solo/co-op with a PvP option.

If you missed the reveal event, there's always the Twitch vod.

The downside is that watching the vod doesn't allow you to spam EPIC STORE SUCKS until a mod times you out.

Notably, if you play solo then you do not get an AI squad to back you up as is the case in Wildlands.

They mentioned drones that can get you synch shot which was basically the only thing the AI squad did for me in Wildlands (I mean other than the odd rez).

Yeah, you get no second chances if you go down, and apparently no supporting fire aside from the sync shot via drones (unless you can perhaps have the drones up and shooting while the sync shot is on cool-down?).

And no witty banter between the squad members.

Plan would be to co-op with my son so I am fine with that. I did enjoy solo with the AI team in Wildlands though. Maybe I can buy some AI teammates with UbiBucks!

Maybe it was locally grumpy? :D

I got a lot of use out of my AI teammates in Wildlands, maybe cause I'm lazy and was happy to let them do the heavy stuff 8-)

I don't care if it is on Epic and not Steam, I'll probably be buying a key through Green Man Gaming anyway. And October is way too far away to think about this summer. Instead of a road trip to Canada we're going to be home as my wife will be having and then recuperating from her fourth knee replacement surgery. Damn, it must be hell getting old :ninja:

Very good +1 :D

No, she had a total knee replacement on the left side a long time ago, but the bottom element has recently broken lose from the tibia, so they have to go back in and replace that lower piece with another one that has a longer stem which goes down inside the tibia

A few years ago she had a total knee replacement on the right side, then because the bottom piece never adhered properly to the tibia, she had to have another operation to replace that bottom piece with one with the longer tibia stem, which is just the operation she is going to have soon on the left side.

Example image (not my wife's).

So, Ghost Recon Breakpoint... doesn't the story line seem a little overblown?

My initial reaction to the story infodump was that it starts exactly like a Far Cry story.

A bit. From what I gather it seems we've got a former Ghost who has decided to turn on his country/command/comrades and work as a mercenary.

It's such a tired trope that we've seen far too often at this point.

Still, Wildlands was also a bit of a trope and I enjoyed that so, who knows?

There was pushback on the Bolivia thing in Wildlands... drones have been a hot topic, AI is a hot topic... the drones serve another purpose. They want more realism where a head shot is a kill, unlike what the Division has done with bullet sponges... are bosses really bosses when they go down just like any other punk? The drones allow them to have tougher enemies that aren't necessarily glass cannons.

What do you guys think is the chance for a BR mode in Breakpoint? Does Ubisoft prefer to make its own thing, or would they add it in a game that like this that (supposedly) has good gunplay and an already big world... I'd be really excited if that was the case, I'm still not burned out by BR games, in fact I play Apex every week and still very much love the formula.

They have 4v4 in Wildlands (Ghost War) and they said PvP would be there from day 1 in Breakpoint. I don't think they have given any further details. It seems like BR would be easy enough to add. Maybe they think there are enough BR games already.

It appears that they've backed off on this. In the E3 presentation, they said that they're adding AI team-mates for solo players sometime after launch.

I just got an invite to participate in the "Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint Online Technical Test", scheduled for July 26 (12 pm CEST) to July 29 (12 pm CEST). I can invite three other people, but they must agree to the following:
WARNING: THE ONLINE TECHNICAL TEST IS STRICTLY CONFIDENTIAL

By joining Tom Clancy’s Ghost Recon® Breakpoint Online Technical Test, you understand and agree to the following non-disclosure agreement (NDA) terms:

- Do not discuss your experience except in the dedicated private forums
- Do not capture or publish gameplay content, screenshots, or videos
- Do not live stream from the Online Technical Test

Any breach of the NDA will result in the banning of the account from all present and future Ubisoft live phases, including but not limited to technical test servers, alphas, and betas.
The download is 27 GB and I'm downloading now. So post if you are interested, but I'm not really sure yet how to add the three folks to the test. More later.

As I understand it, in order for you to invite someone they need to be on your uplay friends list and eligible for the test (i.e. be in North America or Western Europe).

I've tried to fire up the technical test and while Task Manager says it is running, there is nothing showing up, no game, no interface, nothing. I'll try again later.

I tried several times today but the game still won't start for me and I never got a reply to the problem report I posted to the forums. I even re-downloaded it again and also re-updated my drivers. I won't worry about it, unless I have the same problems in the closed beta. Damn Win10, I knew something would go wrong :grund:

Can one of you who did get the technical test to run give naednek (Uplay name naednek80) an invite?
