Holy crap, 80%
That's good to know. I thought I might have to replay the entire base assault.
For DMR rifles I've found that the default scopes usually work out to 200 meters range at first crosshatch of drop. Best thing to do is find a nice flat wall or building and shoot at it, the bullet splashes will show, or at least the flash of impact. The fancy expensive scopes don't have any drop, they have built in rangefinders. Also the SNR rifles don't seem to have any drop either, but that might be because they start off with better scopes. I'd keep a scratch pad listing of each rifle/scope combo and the drop at the first vertical mark. You'll really only need to keep in your inventory one fancy SNR rifle with a fancy scope for the really long shots. Just don't dissemble it!Gryndyl wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 3:42 pm Anyone have some rule of thumb tips for estimating bullet drop for long range snipes? My experience is that they only start to drop at 250m and I assume that all those little lines in my scope have something to do with range but I don't know what distances they're supposed to be indicating.
Haven't gone up against one yet. How did you kill it?
I used the Panther anti-drone cloaking spray to sneak past it to the tower it was guarding, looted the chests then used the tower as cover while I engaged the Behemoth. As long as you keep an eye open for it's AoE barrages and dodge out the way, and just pop up to fire at it from behind cover so that you don't take too much damage, it's not that difficult. Just bring lots of ammo and remember to aim at the glowing parts, just like any other drone.
Thanks. It’s early levels for me at the moment but eventually I’ll take a crack at one.Max Peck wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 6:38 pmI used the Panther anti-drone cloaking spray to sneak past it to the tower it was guarding, looted the chests then used the tower as cover while I engaged the Behemoth. There's a chance for drones to drop standard (or higher level) weapon parts.jztemple2 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 3:45 pm I've run into a problem I've seen mentioned already on the Ubisoft GRB forum. At this point in the game (30+ hours) I can't upgrade some weapons because I can't get hold of any Standard Weapon Parts, those are the ones that come from non-blue, pink, green or yellow weapons. I'm not picking up any more of those weapons, so I can't disassemble them for standard parts. I'm surprised this never got spotted or fixed in alpha.
Yup, but sadly not very often or many. I hope they patch the game so that you can use higher level parts, I have lots of those.Max Peck wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 6:46 pmThere's a chance for drones to drop standard (or higher level) weapon parts.jztemple2 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 09, 2019 3:45 pm I've run into a problem I've seen mentioned already on the Ubisoft GRB forum. The later-game scarcity of standard weapon parts might not be an oversight after all.jztemple2 wrote: ↑Fri Oct 11, 2019 8:13 pmYup, but sadly not very often or many. Hmm, I didn't really check out the point differences except for the 100-point missions. I'll have to check for those 50-point ones. Thanks for "pointing" this outMax Peck wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 2:41 pm You can hit the daily cap on battle points by doing the pair of 100-point missions and all 4 50-point missions. The 15-point faction support missions are superfluous for advancing through the battle tiers. There is a cool-looking weapon (M4A1 Tactical) at Tier 47, so I've been knocking out 400 points a day to stay on track to get it.
Ubisoft wouldn't be trying to monetize upgrades, would they?
Do you use the Guided Mode on or off? I'm trying to keep it off and it makes the higher point value Faction Missions tougher as I have to go look around for the next clue.Max Peck wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 2:41 pm You can hit the daily cap on battle points by doing the pair of 100-point missions and all 4 50-point missions. I switched it off right from the start. Are you talking about the missions that start with an intelligence gathering step before you know the location of the target?jztemple2 wrote: ↑Sun Oct 13, 2019 10:16 pmDo you use the Guided Mode on or off? Yup, those. I played one last night which said, essentially, go to the province and ask someoneMax Peck wrote: ↑Mon Oct 14, 2019 12:40 amI switched it off right from the start. Stay frosty, Ghosts.
The gear mechanic is rather odd. I understand the need to get your level up for entering certain areas, but otherwise all enemies all increase their gear ratings whenever I do, so it seems nonsensical for me to constantly be swapping out weapons and gear.
That's nice to be able to get more standard parts, but I wish it was retroactive. I've come across agricultural drones in bunches and they all yielded loot, now I have to remember where they wereDrones will drop even more parts. 80% of the time, players will get 5x standard parts or 3x improved parts.
