Did we cover this already? There's been so much bullshit this week, that I'm not sure if it got the attention it deserves.

So, firing people with experience and replacing them with yes-men, basically. As well as gutting the intelligence community in the process simply because he Trump believes conspiracy theories and they're not lining up quickly enough to kiss his ring.

I'm sure Putin loves it.

That is sad. and I do wonder how it will affect things in the impeachment.

Next in line for his position: Rep. Carolyn Maloney, doesn't look like she is in great health either.

I mean, probably 0%. Democrats can't not impeach Trump at this point, it's more a matter of when and exactly what the contents of the impeachment resolution / trial will be. Seems like Pelosi, Schiff, and to a lesser degree Nadler were the key leadership figures on this anyway.

But sad to lose him, though.

They're claiming the Gottis Trumps won't make a dime off the summit. How in God's name would they NOT? :?

At this point he just feels like he can do whatever he wants and get away with it. Hopefully this whole Turkey situation blows up in his face enough that he discovers otherwise.

I'm having mixed feelings

https://www.freep.com/story/news/politi ... 987809002/
The Michigan Court of Claims stopped the state's ban on flavored vapes Tuesday, issuing a preliminary injunction against the ban, which began on Oct. 2.
Right hand says, prohibition, not so much
Left hand says, candy flavored vap, and it's about the business, not the consumer, really?

Jude's ruling
“Not only has plaintiff A Clean Cigarette lost a significant percentage of its sales and closed several stores due to the ban, the ban will force plaintiff to rebrand itself entirely,” she wrote. “In essence, the emergency rules will destroy plaintiff A Clean Cigarette’s business as it currently exists.”
Even my right hand is like WTF?

Now this is obfuscation my right hand is used to SingMDH and then hanging it in shame
But Stephens said the state was fully aware of the problem nearly a year ago and couldn’t justify the need for the emergency rules.

“Indeed an agency cannot create an emergency by way of its own failure to act,” she wrote. “The court concludes that the record, at least at this juncture, does not substantiate the declaration of an emergency which necessitated dispensing with the … normal rule-making procedures which afford the public meaningful opportunities to be heard.”
This is what my right hand remembers...
She also noted that there was evidence that adults using flavored vapes as a means to quit smoking could revert back to traditional cigarettes.

“There is evidence in the record supporting the notion that many adult users of flavored vaping products will return to more harmful combustible tobacco products,” Stephens wrote.
No. What. That's not prohibition is bad.

BTW, the judge is not part of the GOP machine, she is an historically left hand judge.

An injunction like this is based on a number of factors, but most importantly the odds of success when something goes to trial and the relative harm to each party from allowing or denying the injunction. I'm guessing it's pretty much unknown on the odds of success question, but the judge's ruling is that not allowing the injunction (i.e., permitting the ban to go into effect) would effectively destroy the businesses of these companies until it could fully litigated. Even if the retailers win at trial, it would be a hollow victory as they would have had their ability to sell the product blocked for the months (or years) that that lawsuit went on. The outcome should be seen as reflecting that issue rather than a ruling on the permissibility of flavored vaping juice.

I'm not sure this is political but didn't know where else to put it. I'm not sure how this can be a criminal act. I can see there being social consequences, but not legal ones.

Did you read the linked hate crime statute?

There will be no bitches in our socialist paradise, bitch.
State lawmakers weighed a bill Tuesday that would make saying the “B” word in a derogatory way an offense that could result in a $200 fine.

The bill, “An act regarding the use of offensive words,” was filed in May by Representative Daniel Hunt, a Boston Democrat who represents a swath of Dorchester.

Under the bill, anyone who “uses the word ‘bitch’ directed at another person to accost, annoy, degrade or demean the other person shall be considered to be a disorderly person,” and will be subject to a fine of up to $200. A violation “may be reported by the person to whom the offensive language was directed at or by any witness to such incident.”

Pope Francis Reverses Position On Capitalism After Seeing Wide Variety Of American Oreos
WASHINGTON—Admitting the startling discovery had compelled him to reexamine his long-held beliefs, His Holiness Pope Francis announced Tuesday that he had reversed his critical stance toward capitalism after seeing the immense variety of Oreos available in the United States. “Oh, my goodness, look at all these! Golden Oreos, Cookie Dough Oreos, Mega Stuf Oreos, Birthday Cake Oreos—perhaps the system of free enterprise is not as terrible as I once feared,” said the visibly awed bishop of Rome while visiting a Washington, D.C. supermarket, adding that the sheer diversity of flavors, various colors and quantities of creme filling, and presence or absence of an outer fudge layer had led to a profound philosophical shift in his feelings toward the global economy and opened his eyes to the remarkable capabilities of the free market. “Only a truly exceptional and powerful economic system would be capable of producing so many limited-edition and holiday-themed flavors of a single cookie brand, such as these extraordinary Key Lime Pie Oreos and Candy Corn Oreos. This is not a force of global impoverishment at all, but one of endless enrichment.” At press time, the pontiff had reportedly withdrawn his acceptance of capitalism, calling any system that would unleash a Roadhouse Chili Monster Slim Jim on the public “an unholy abomination.”
