Any Canadians that live close to the US border? (Christie Bacon Dippers!)

Post by Brian »

A bit of a long shot here but I'll just throw this out there.

Do we have any Canadians on this board, that live within an easy drive of the US border?
The reason I ask is that I would love to get my hands on some Christie Bacon Dippers crackers before the Christmas season.
I know that I can get them online via Amazon and other sellers but it's shipping across the boarder that makes them ridiculously expensive. They end up being upwards of $10+ for a 7oz(200g) box and that's just a bit more than I really want to spend.
I figure if somebody could buy some in Canada and then pop across the boarder to a UPS store or something, then it might just make it worthwhile.

I guess that could also go for any Americans that could pop across the border into Canada as well.

Naturally I would be paying for the crackers and the shipping if anybody was willing to do this.

I'm about 6 hours from the border, so not me. You'd have more luck from someone in either Toronto or Ottawa. I'm actually above that blue line.

That's a New Jersey thing, not a Canadian one.

Still ridiculous pricing.
Walmart Canada sells these for $2.47 CA per box. That's $1.89 US.
The idea of spending over $8 US per box is absolutely ridiculous.

Of course, it's the border crossing during shipping that makes it so expensive. That's why I was hoping to find somebody who could cross the border into the US and then ship a box of 'em to me.

Look for a Canadian importer that might have it reasonably priced. Until a big-ass Filipino market opened in Chicago, I used to order from well-stocked place in New Jersey. But some things will just be hard if not impossible to get. In the Philippines, I got mildly addicted to honey letchi green tea, made by Nestea but apparently only made and sold in the Philippines and not even imported here.

Pretty sure I'm watching the plot of the new Smokey and the Bandit movie write itself here...

More like the bottle return (or was it cans?) episode of Seinfeld when Kramer loaded up Newman's mail truck for a road trip to Michigan.
