Surviving Mars
Sold.

Not that I don't collect all these titles like a chipmunk scenting snow, but that one actually might get played in the coming 14 months.
It's almost as if people are the problem.

i was sucked in from the start when they had Subnautica for free, and i've been religious about getting everything they've posted in the free bin (even the ones i already own).

Yes, me too. Thanks for posting them. Surviving Mars is (I think) the first title I've wanted but didn't previously own on STEAM (or elsewhere). Still not convinced I'll install it via Epic, but it's around if I need it.

Free is free, and even if they put up a game I don't want now, I know that my taste changes over time.

Nuclear Throne was a surprise for me. Much better than I anticipated and if you enjoy the style (rogue-like) the theme is great.

got Nuclear Throne when it was a $12 level tier in a Humble Bundle awhile back - totally took a chance on it. it's great. i tried recommending it to people, but they dismissed it as 'too silly' until they actually tried it, then they bought it.

I could have sworn they showed For the King for this week, but now it says Sundered Eldritch Edition. Weird.

I recall that, too, now that you mention it. I remember checking that game out to see if I'd be interested (and noting that it had the same name as my next targeted perk in Operencia).

They really need to take down the Holiday sale banners for sales that ended weeks ago.
Or are they trying to be like that neighbor that keeps his Christmas lights up all year?

Whatever they're doing, its apparently working:
Happy New Year!

New decade means new games and we’re looking at a great start with tons of amazing titles coming exclusively to the Epic Games Store in 2020. To kick things off, we’re extending our weekly free game program throughout 2020. Every single week, come back to claim your game. Once claimed, it’s yours to keep forever.

Phoenix Point got me in the door and free games got me checking in to see what the next game I won't be playing is. That has opened the door that was previously closed to all but Steam and GOG. I can't say it's making them money but the door is open.

I must take back everything bad I've said about Fortnite. Apparently all those rubes buying pants and haircuts means free games for me all year. Ask your parents for more Fortbucks, Smoove wants free games.
