Do you have a link for it? I already bought 2 from Amazon of Baby Yoda in his space carriage for my wife and I'm sure she'll like this one as well.

episode 4 is up. Fun, man the dialogue in this is lacking in quality. Just seems campy. Luckily it has star wars to fall back on.

Re: [series] The Mandalorian ......Disney
They definitely hit a road bump in episode 4. Not nearly the quality (acting/writing/effects) of the first three. So 4 was actually about the quality level I expected - very meh. Very much made for TV. Harkens back to Ewoks Battle for Endor. Star Wars-lite.

I've noticed the "made for TV" aspect comes in whenever they introduce non-primary characters (like the prisoner from Ep. 1 or the villagers from Ep. 4). It's glaringly obvious the acting quality between the primary roles and the secondaries/extras. I still enjoyed episode 4 a great deal, though, mostly because I thought <co-starring character> was pretty cool.

Yep. 100%. I was with them until the villagers in Ep. 4 showed up. Wow, they were really bad.

She's not the best actor in the world, but damn if I don't enjoy watching Gina Carano do just about anything.

And let's not forget her superhero landing in Deadpool. She nails it.
I definitely enjoyed Haywire. I'd certainly like to see her in more things. And please, please, please, keep Ronda away from acting!!!!

Agree, there was a lot of great actors in that, and Channing Tatum was quoted as saying something along the lines of she was the best sparring/fight scene partner he's ever had. She knew her stuff, didn't take any unnecessary risks, and still kicked his ass.\
Found the quote:
[on Haywire (2011)] My wife always hates when I go, "I just don't love female action movies." I don't know why. I'll watch them, but I don't run to go and see them. I'd say, "Find a girl that can, pardon my French, whup my ass, and I will go to the movie." And they did! They went and found [MMA champion Gina Carano] and she did! And it was awesome. I truly loved it.

I don't know who she is but while watching I told the kids that she's probably an MMA fighter so excuse the bad acting and get ready for her to beat a bunch of people up.Hyena wrote: ↑Tue Dec 03, 2019 12:15 pmAgree, there was a lot of great actors in that, and Channing Tatum was quoted as saying something along the lines of she was the best sparring/fight scene partner he's ever had. So many cameos. I haven't really hated any but the only one I liked was Werner Herzog.YellowKing wrote: ↑Sat Nov 30, 2019 8:54 pm I've noticed the "made for TV" aspect comes in whenever they introduce non-primary characters (like the prisoner from Ep. 1 or the villagers from Ep. 4). Actress Bryce Dallas Howard directed episode 4 (mandalorian). I saw yesterday that a boom mic was seen in one of the shots that had
the Mandalorian and the Woman with awesome shooting skills, in one of the shelter huts.
When is The Mandalorian gonna figure out where on baby yoda the tracking device is to keep all the other bounty hunters from
tracking it with their fobs?

I don’t think the acting is bad at all. At least in comparison to any other Star Wars tv show or movie.

I've been really enjoying it. I could watch Mando work his magic all day long, even without the Baby Yoda angle.
I wish, though that some of the NPC's were smarter. Felt bad for that last one. He should have known better.

I gave it like 4 episodes and I just can't stand the show. The pacing sucks especially the first few episodes and dear god the writing is terrible. Oh look a sniper I wonder if he will get shot from behind at the last second. Oh look lets do a training the village montage just like a million movies have done before. I was waiting for Bruce Cambell to show up. Meh

I think the music for the show is fantastic. That stands out more than anything else. Don't get me wrong, I'm lovin' the show itself so far. But man, that tribal, drum and flute heavy background music really sets a tone for the show.

Episode 6 has Bill Burr. Bill Freaking Burr. "Are you unhappy with my management style?" My favorite ep so far. Oh yeah, Clancy Brown is in there too.

Episode 6 was 50% Sons of Anarchy, 50% Alien/s, and 50% Fast and Furious.
It was nice that Hell Boy and Harley Quinn made appearances too.
It was entertaining.

The important thing to remember when assembling a crew for a prison ship heist is to hire a woman who insists on using knives instead of a blaster.

I enjoyed this episode exponentially over the last one. That said, do we need to start a pool over how many episodes it's going to take before the Mandalorian starts to lock up his shit?

Also, everyone keeps calling him "Mando". The first episode I just assumed it was short for "that Mandalorian guy I'm talking to", but now I'm not so sure. If there are two on a mission, is the second guy called "Mandos"?

So like I get that droids are being used as stand-ins so there aren't as many graphic kills of actual living humanoids on a Disney show but aren't they sentient beings? Are they backed up on the cloud or something?

I've noticed the same thing. They keep including what does appear to be sentient AI - from the second episode to this one - and murdering it in brutal on-screen fashion. I think it's safe to classify the ship droids as "Programmed Robots" and not "Sentient" - but the bounty hunter and mercenary drones were clearly thinking levels above regular drone programming.LawBeefaroni wrote: ↑Sun Dec 15, 2019 10:25 amSo like I get that droids are being used as stand-ins so there aren't as many graphic kills of actual living humanoids on a Disney show but aren't they sentient beings? Today's kids are more connected to technology than ever before and seeing these things murdered may hit them harder than it did back in the 1970's.
