Weird "save as" issue in web browsers

For the last couple days, any time I try to save anything from a web browser, it replaces all the characters I type with other random letters. I.E. If I try to save a picture as "Skinypupy Picture", it replaces all the letters in the "save as" field as I'm typing them. So instead of "Skinypupy Picture" it comes in as "R7lnd0 Sbu8k76". It's completely random every time too. Each time I type the letter P, for example, it comes up with a new random letter.

There's nothing wrong with my keyboard (it's working just fine to type this), and it doesn't happen when I "save as" in any other program either (Word, Excel, etc.). Only happening in web browsers. I've been using Chrome, but installed Firefox this afternoon to see if it was happening there too (it is).

I'm quite stumped, tbh. I've tried a couple google searches, but "Save as function is replacing characters" doesn't come up with any thing helpful.

Thanks man, I had completely forgotten I had installed Sophos a couple weeks go (got it free from work). I disabled the encryption and it's back to normal.

Out of sheer curiosity, what did you google to find that answer? I kept coming up empty.
