That's the only thing that would make this better. Only a little though. The guy can still play.

Too bad NFL Europe isn't still a thing. The league could have contracted him to play over there and generate interest, much the same as Whatshisface from England did for the thrilling sport of watching grass grow in this country.

I thought the big money was on Brady going to San Diego? We know they’re looking for a QB, they’ve got some great offensive players, and Brady is a California boy. Seems like the obvious destination if they want him.

FWIW apparently the Chargers and the Bucs have offered Brady contracts north of $30 million.

Presumably he's going to choose between them, unless someone else swoops in.

My apologies ... the first three tweets I saw on it were all him going to TB for 30 mil a year. Schefter has refuted that in the interim, but I was tied up with work.

I think he'll take the Chargers over the Bucs. Geez my Boston friends, it's been hard all over these past few months. I almost feel sorry for you. (Actually I do feel bad for you as folks that I know but honestly never been a fan of New England teams).

Uh, he's not a HOF candidate because of the way he's playing now. We went through this before. He threw 20 INT's last season.
Here's his stat line just so you can see that I actually (imagine that proner) know what I'm talking about.

By using the logic in your opening sentence, Tom Brady is not a HOF candidate because of the way he's playing now, either, by virtue of having a lower completion percentage, fewer yards, and a worse QB rating than non-HOF candidate Philip Rivers in 2019.

eh, it's fine. I think stessier is more bummed, but for me it's kind of a toss up between watching Brady play elsewhere and watching Brady's inevitable decline progress. I would *rather* he be back in New England next year, but it's not so terrible that he's leaving now.

You are the one who introduced HOF as a requirement or lack thereof, not me. Teams need players who play well in the moment, not in the past. Saying that, Brady doesn't have to play well, he'll be a huge fan draw no matter how he plays.

So please explain to me why teams should try to talk Joe Montana out of retirement.

I didn't introduce it as a requirement. I found you saying the Colts needed luck because of the way Rivers throws INTs (based off of 2019, and only 2019) to be ludicrous, and the HOF comment was a deliberate response to you knocking his abilities after one season.

At any rate, a contending team like the Colts aren't going to chase after Rivers if they didn't see him as an upgrade on their current situation. There's no luck needed there.

I'm not going to respond to your even more ludicrous Joe Montana comments.

Only my comments are ludicrous, got it. All I said was that he threw more INT's. You come after me like I said Drew Brees was the worst QB ever or something. The facts I've posted, what I said was true. You are welcome to apologize any time. I don't recall saying that the Colts shouldn't sign him or that he wasn't an upgrade to their situation. If he's an upgrade they should sign him. He threw 20 INT's last year.

Here, more information for you. https://www.teamrankings.com/nfl/player ... ntercepted
Rivers had the third highest interception rate among starting QB's last year.

More facts: https://www.cbssports.com/nfl/news/nfls ... -brighter/

Now what does that tell you? That the NFL doesn't have a lot of confidence in old QB's being good (again Brady will be an exception to that). But hey I don't know what I'm talking about right? Maybe you should give up on your obvious misogyny.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand Brady goes to the Bucs. While I thought it could work with him on the Chargers for a year or two while they get some seasoning for whichever QB they draft, I'm not that disappointed. His skills have clearly diminished, they can spend that cash elsewhere, and his politics stink.

There is more to NFL QB play than interceptions, Lorini. But you don't seem to be interested in that. Not sure what Rivers did to you but you sure seem to dislike him and you are holding onto that one stat for dear life. I don't think anyone dismisses your opinions based on gender but more that you have only one single stat to back it up and that you refuse to see or acknowledge anyone elses point of view may have merit.

It was a gamble and they lost. They knew his knee would not hold up but they were thisclose to being a Super Bowl team. So they get him and hope his knee lasts long enough to win a championship. They almost won that gamble. If he had made it to the SB in good enough condition to be partly effective, I think the Rams win and no one would care about how much it cost when he couldn't deliver any more. That's the downside of making moves specifically to win the SB in the short term, it's all or nothing. Either you're a genius for making the move or it fails and millions go down the drain.
