Alternative X-Box controllers (Mad Catz)

Post by CeeKay »

With Halo 2 coming out and the desire to have a few extra controllers so other people can join games on my X-Box, I've been looking at the various game pads that are available. I saw that Mad Catz has one that is 20 bucks, 10 cheaper than the official pad. Has anyone had any experience with the Mad Catz version?

The Mad Catz controllers suck. The triggers break way too easily. You should try the Logitech controllers. They're usually about $5 cheaper than Microsoft, but at least they last as long.

I'll second that -- stay away from Mad Catz. I made the mistake of buying one of their controllers...I won't do that again. It didn't even last two months.

Thanks for the tips. Looks like I'll just go with the Microsoft controllers.

Yeah, the Logitech Wireless Precison controler for xbox is awesome. It takes a little while for you to get used to the triggers being positioned more forward than on the Controller S, but it's awsome. Only used 2 AA batteries!

Be careful with the logitech x-box controllers. I bought one from Best Buy and the dpad was entirely inaccurate. I couldn't even navigate simple menus with it.

They may have fixed the problem, but keep your receipt to be sure.
