BigFish Games Sale

Post by Defiant »

Big Fish is having a President's Day sale, of 30% off all their games (making it just under $5 a game) with the coupon PREZSALE. Sale ends tonight. There are a number of games there people would probably be interested in (eg, Plants vs Zombies, Avernum, the Blackwell games, Agatha Christie games, Sinking Island, Syberia, etc, as well as plenty of casual games).

Thanks for posting this, Nade. I know someone who wants Plants and Zombies on sale, so I passed on the info to them last night.

Did you uncheck the default to sigh up for their monthly service? If you uncheck that, it should remove any requirement to add payment info.

three more free game codes:

FREEGAME225915
FREEGAME491795
FREEGAME362506

verified these all worked just now (got Mystery Case Files: Return to Ravenhearst [Collector's Edition], Nevertales: The Beauty Within [Collector's Edition] and Lost Lands: Ice Spell [Collector's Edition]). if you're not sure what to get, i could recommend the whole Drawn trilogy.

just getting those free 'Collector's Editions' was enough to get three free 'regular' titles (or one CE) if i enabled their Game Club thing. need to consider if that's worth the hassle to cancel afterwards.

Huh, I thought you need to buy 6 games to get one free title.

Anyway, I had a subscription like maybe 7 or 8 years ago. I don't remember it being a hassle to cancel, and IIRC, one of the benefit was having a game available every day that was on sale. But there weren't many games of the type I wanted, and once I got the ones I wanted, I cancelled. If you play a lot of hidden object games, though, I would imagine it would be worth it.

Re: BigFish Games Sale

i definitely wouldn't keep the subscription - there are only so many hidden object games i can take - i'm going to (eventually) just play through all the free ones i've accumulated on BFG. i believe the only ones i ever actually 'purchased' were in a mid-tier Humble Artifex Mundi Bundle some years ago and all the money i spent on that went directly to charity. (i've also just about played through all of those on Steam - just finished Time Mysteries and have half of Time Mysteries 2 and all of Time Mysteries 3 left.)

i remember from the EA bundle that Spintop's Escape From Rosecliff Island just about turned me off of HOGs forever... it took literal years to get around to completing that one

Me and my wife loved to play the hidden object games together. It was the only type games she'd bother with. Me alone dont care anymore. But they gave us some fun together on PC. Ill remember them for that alone.

Is there no way to search for a title on their site? I have enjoyed the hidden object game I got but want something different. I was thinking Id look up some of the ones you guys have mentioned but I cant find a search function.

NM found it on a separate page.

Picked up Awakening: The Redleaf Forest

Thank you.

Thanks!

With these last two codes I purchased two collectors editions (Dark Alleys Penumbra Motel and Drawn: Dark Flight), in the hope that it would give me 6 punches and get me a free game code.

The punch card does say "Congratulations, you earned a free game. Check your email for your free code". Unfortunately, none has arrived yet. Not sure if it takes a while for it to arrive, or if I won't get one cause I'm not a club member. (I'll update if I do get a code).

so in order to use that, you actually do have to sign up for the game club, then you can redeem it. you will have to remember to unsubscribe after you've done so (before you get charged at the end of the 30 days)

Unfortunately for me, since I've been a member previously, it already wants to charge me. But given the rate at which they seem to be giving out codes to free games, I'll probably have every game I'd ever be interested in 2-3 months.
