 That's good.

You know you've arrived when you can buy the $16/lb wild-caught sockeye instead of the $8 farmed salmon. I can remember when affording salmon at all was a splurge.

13 degrees out here this morning. Was 17 yesterday. Kids left the garden hose on the outside tap (they live in a travel trailer). Have an anti siphon type tap and it released water all over they hose and tap. After chipping all the ice off and disconnecting the hose they water wasn't frozen in the tap or hose hook up. I assume that means the pipe didn't burst but as it never got above freezing yesterday I don't know if the tap itself is still good or not.
Last time it got this cold I told them it was their responsibility to remove the hose the night before if it was going to get this cold (because they forgot but I had remembered to). I also told them I was going to leave it disconnected for the rest of winter if they didn't.
Assuming the tap isn't leaking should I follow thru with my threat?

I never leave the hose attached in winter. It stays in the out building until warm weather. I keep a Styrofoam cover on the faucet.

They knew what the deal was. Keep the hose. They can get a new one if they want.

Did anyone here see the 2013 movie The Incredible Burt Wonderstone? Its a Jim Carrey movie Ive never even heard of before until yesterday when I saw a pic of him with long hair and didn't even recognize him. Thought it was Brad Pitt for a moment. Seems the box office sucked on it but the general person rating is ok.

I dunno. Rotten Tomatoes gives it a 33% audience score, which is almost as low as the popular vote can go with this many well-known stars.

I find it a little suspicious that this months power bill nearly doubled to EXACTLY match the credit I had in my account. I mean it could have been worse and been higher but to double to match it and leave me with 0 afterwards. Hmmm.

Indeed, and human brains have a tendency towards apophenia (i.e. mistakenly detecting patterns where they don’t exist).

Im not a fan of black eyed peas the food. The band is cool. The food not so much. Ive not had any in decades. But Im eating the entire can tomorrow and having collard greens too. If this year was my fault Im sorry and am trying to fix it. :)

2nd thing....while gone to town had a limb fall off a big tree in the back yard. About my size around and 30 feet long. Didn't appear rotten and was actually a living branch so not sure why it broke off. Nose dived into the ground making a 1 foot hole. It was about 2 feet from the reach of my dog who was out while I was gone. Ugh. And thats not one of the big limbs up there. One is over the house and is about equal to half the tree. The insurance company wont pay for it unless it falls on the house. Silly insurance.

there is chili and minestrone, chicken parmigiana (not sure I got that right). and of course, tomato soup.

tomato sauce mixed half/half with salsa makes enchilada sauce.

Ya and they both keep good too. I like to add garlic powder and onion powder to the sauce as it simmers and when I add it to pasta I toss in some mexican 4 cheese blend.

Wal-Mart? Easy. Knowledgeable people cost money. They don't pay for knowledgeable people. They pay for people who can put things on shelves, make sure nothing is in the middle of the floor, and point you to the bathroom.
