Sending PMs

Post by dbt1949 »

The last few times I tried sending PMs to members I have failed miserably.
I need step by step instructions I think.
I get confused on how to get the person I want to send to.
For instance.....is "add recipients" where I put the name of the person? I mean for a single person not a group.

If you are sending to one person and you see them in a post the easiest way is to click on their name and then click send private message. This will populate them as the receiver.

If you don't see their name clickable anywhere, you can either search for member and then click private message

Or

click private messages and then click compose message.

If you choose to compose message then you either need to

enter a users name and click

Or

click find member and run a search, where you can use * as a wild card.

1. Start with a post. Click here:

2. Then click here:

2a. Alternately, go to somebody's profile and click here:

3. The PM window will pop up, and the recipient's name should already be filled in, so just type in the box and submit it like a post:

Oops, that first arrow should be pointed at the little word bubble next to 'Contact.'
