It helped that C and L were ruled out in the 1st guess. Limited the word choice quite a bit, when you rule out anything ending in OCK or OLL or OWL

This one stumped me for a while. Ouch. I ended up going with a hail Mary guess on #5 just to narrow the options.

It's easily identified on the first page of the thread, so that's that. No bookmark needed. When it was in the Friday timewaster thread, if it wasn't bumped you'd have try and figure out where the link was.

On a related note. sad trombones wah wah this morning. I often find I just don't think of words, and today I got stuck on double letter this and double letter than and just couldn't be bothered to reset my thinking, I guess.

Again, one of those where I almost had it - but there were several options and I went with the wrong one. Note to self for the future: Consider the options. Pick the most likely one rather than the first one that pops into your head.
