Elex II [Piranha Bytes]

Post by coopasonic »

It's out today. Metacritic is pretty meh at 67% but I enjoyed the first (and most everything PB has ever made) and will be jumping in when I hit a gaming lull (way too much going on right now).

I just reinstalled Elex a minute ago to give it a good go. It seemed fun the first time but I didn't get into it. I think on that older video card the slowness combined with its look deterred me. Shall see. Had trouble getting into the Gothics and Risen stuff too until I beared down and forced myself then I loved every minute.

Also I have brand new controller...so maybe that will help. Usually it helps. May not. Maybe kb/mouse is the way to go. How did you guys control the first Elex?

Just started Elex II this morning, only like 40 minutes in. So far it seems... fine. It starts out with a bang. I keep picking up weapons that I need to gain 2-3 levels to use which seems a bit cruel this early on (I'm level 2) but hopefully the early levels go quickly.

About 50 hours later and I'm done. Enjoyed it start to finish. Very much an extension of the first, if you didn't like that don't bother with this. Story wise it is getting interesting and choices mattered at least somewhat.

This is on my list of 'to play' after I finish Mass Effect 2 Legendary.
