A reminder that it's out now. I only watched the first episode last night and it's so damn good.

Re: Witcher series by Netflix
It felt more "Witchery" to me after that first episode. The whole first season was good, but it didn't really make me want to come rushing back. But they seem to have the formula down now.
But I am kind of burned out on fantasy shows in general, I think. Wheel of Time and this aren't shows I'm overly excited about. The only reason I'm looking forward to the Lord of the Rings series is to see where all that money went.
Not the fault of the shows, mind you. They're quite good...well, the ones I've seen, that is.

Re: Witcher series by Netflix
Okay, episode 3 of season 2 is exactly what I wanted in a Witcher series.
If they continue like this, I’m all in. Give me Geralt fighting insane monsters and occasionally doing some Batman style detective work.

Season 1 was ok, they had a lot of table setting to do but wow, absolutely wow, Season 2 hit it out of the ball park. The story was fascinating, there was plenty of action, and the tension just kept on building throughout the story, and there was a lot of GOT style plotting and back stabbing. And the end of season reveal came out of nowhere and left me speechless. Geralt, Yennefer and Ciri against the world! I can't wait for Season 3!

Spoilers, please. I had no idea Geralt would be in this, let alone a possible next season.Grifman wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 2:54 am Season 1 was ok, they had a lot of table setting to do but wow, absolutely wow, Season 2 hit it out of the ball park. I really need to sit and watch this. We had off since last Friday, but have been running all over the place. The first season was kind of meh for me, but I thought the casting was really good. I kind of figured they would come out stronger in the second season.

Finished S2 tonight while somehow not realizing I was watching the final episode. Just a magnificent series.

I apologize. The OP probably should change the thread title as the fact that the series is on Netflix is probably a major spoiler.Freyland wrote: ↑Thu Dec 30, 2021 9:44 amSpoilers, please. I finished it too. It definitely felt more “Witchery” to me than season 1. The monsters were more prevalent, or at least they seemed to be. Really looking forward to season 3. I think more because I wanna see if Cavill will be able to fully lower his arms.

Thought S2 was awesome. Everything I want in a fantasy, fun, exciting, dark. Managed to follow the stories without fucking it up. This is how you do fantasy. I'm talking to you Wheel of Time!

We finished our viewing of S2 last week and everyone loved it. Easier to follow although they do throw a lot of faces at you. Nice to see the Bard again.

I finished season 2 over the weekend. Episodes 1, 2, and 6 were my favorites. I can tell they ramped up the effects this season. The bard is always awesome and love his singing.
Very good series that I have no problem recommending.

Re: Witcher series by Netflix
Season 2 feels even better than the first. You can tell it has a higher budget. It also feels more grounded and establishes more of the lore and uses it to good effect. In the medallion tree, I think I even saw a medallion that resembled Geralt's from the games, which makes it a neat nod. It's in the scene where they first show the tree in episode 2.

Yeah, that's quite the change. I had my doubts about Cavill, but he really won me over in the end, especially in doing the voice. I hope Helmsworth can do just as well.

Thats weird. I thought Henry was a huge reason for the show as he was such a fan of it. Going to be hard to replace him mid show.

Apparently it's super easy to replace him.
It sounds like there might have been a scheduling conflict between The Witcher and his return as Superman in the DCU. If he had to choose between the roles, Superman is probably the better career move.

It depends on how you look at it. Sticking with the Witcher would be the nerdier movie, IMHO.

My assumption is also that it was Superman vs. Geralt scheduling issue. From a career perspective, it's an easy decision for him. I tend to like the DC Movies I have seen fine, but I am sad because I think the Witcher is fantastic. Hope Liam can fill those boots well.
