Every year, there are dozens of little moments like this that go into winning a SB. You have to be good enough to take advantage, but so many games turn on random events like this.
It’s why the greatest football team I have ever seen couldn’t win a SB. In the end, the refs swallowed their whistles and Eli escaped like 8 would be pass rushers, and threw a pass that was randomly caught on a dude’s helmet.
I’ve been sitting here for almost a week now hearing about OMG Mahomes is the greatest ever. Meanwhile, I watched him QB his team to 12 pts, 5 punts and 2 turnovers (outside of the random ball bouncing off an ankle that gifted them a 1 play TD).
I hate the immediate overreaction, that the last thing we watched has to have been the greatest thing ever.
