I can see both sides. On the one hand, depleting that armory so that the flamethrower and the molotovs are either gone or less plentiful is a great move for the Thing. But doing it on the first round is a bit suspicious when everyone else is trying to repair the radio room/fuel the installation.

I really like The Thing. It does a good job of simulating the movie. It has its flaws, but I enjoyed it. I wouldn't mind trying it on Tabletop Simulator with a bunch of OOers. It takes up to 8.
He won. Period.

The first turn with new players was interesting. Knowing now how things break, I understand now about getting ahead of those problems. But it wasn’t broke yet. The whole thing about everyone repairing comms was an excuse as we already had the max of 3 players there.

But there is a reason each character has an enhanced action. Mine was getting weapons, and it makes sense to have a few weapons to spread around to deal with the Things when they arrive. I can see now how an aggressive Thing can defeat groups of unarmed characters. I don’t think anyone really understood that. Without the flame thrower, you guys could have died fast.
