Twenty minutes until kickoff of Indiana vs OSU. Seems like it's either going to be a great game or a blowout, but I have no idea which way it will go...

Go Hoosiers!

I get that feeling, but this is an bad Utah team. The defense is decent, but the offense might be the worst I’ve ever seen at Utah.

I’m guessing 24-7 CU. Possibly 24-10 if Wilson plays (beat reporters said he was out with mono, but he’s apparently out there warming up right now, so 🤷‍♂️.)
And away we go. :grund:

Still - there was a moment there where you guys nearly came back.

It's been a while since we've had any joy playing Utah - so, I'll take it.

Georgia kept their playoff hopes alive by beating Tennessee.

I am not sure how strong the BIG is this year and I know the B12 isn’t very strong. But the playoffs should still be fun.

But I miss the Pac12. 😒

I almost forgot about Arizona State winning again. I want to see ASU crush BYU next week.

BYU’s luck finally ran out last night. Wish it could have happened a week earlier, but oh well.

I think whichever team that comes out of the B12 is going to get absolutely destroyed in the playoff. Fun league, but there’s really not any good teams.

Yup.
When every team in the old Pac-12 had two losses, it was a disgrace. When every team but one in the Big 12 has at least two losses, it's a Jackson Pollock acid trip. Ah, but when 14 of the 16 teams in the SEC all have at least two losses it's "competitive."
Article is about Dillingham and ASU, but includes that tidbit.

The article also notes that 1 of ASU's 2 losses was while their starting qb was out.

I tend to agree. ASU was supposed to be absolutely terrible this year, and they have surprised everyone. This week's game against BYU got really interesting with the Cougar's loss to Kansas.

I've also found them much more difficult to hate with Dillingham at the helm. He just seems like a really solid guy, unlike snake-oil salesman Herm and all-around colossal asshole Todd Graham.

Dillingham can be seen as an annoying rah rah type coach, but you can’t deny his success in turning around what was a terrible team last year.

Hawai'i is having some serious administrative issues it appears:
Less than a month after one of the most monumental moves in University of Hawaii athletics’ history, system President David Lassner has fired athletic director Craig Angelos, according to multiple reports....

...The post — titled “THIS IS WHY AD ANGELOS IS BEING FIRED **PLEASE READ**” — describes an internal power struggle between longtime University of Hawaii administrators and more prominent athletics officials, including Angelos and notable coaches. Moreover, it calls upon program supporters to pressure the university’s board of regents to reverse course. The board is scheduled to have its final meeting of the year on Thursday.

The anonymous poster, who said they work “very close” to the athletic department, accuses Lassner of long hoping to make a friend of his, Manin, the head of the department. However, prominent coaches successfully lobbied for an outside perspective following previous athletic director David Matlin’s departure.
Also from the click through about how awful Todd Graham was there before resigning:
For more than three hours, McBride moderated a discussion primarily driven by players on the 2021 Hawaii football team, some of whom described an unhealthy team culture under Graham. Players complained of rampant favoritism, incompetent coaching and a locker room environment that failed to build camaraderie between teammates. As one player shared on the forum, “I’ve played on a 1-11 team and have never felt like this.”

In the world of college football, where players are rarely comfortable speaking out about mistreatment, it was a stunning indictment of team morale and suggested a wave of even more transfers could be imminent. ..

...Graham’s behavior has reportedly had a negative impact on the rest of his coaching staff as well. Multiple players mentioned that they believed staff promotions were given to coaches who challenged Graham the least. One player recalled an instance in practice when an assistant coach apologized to his position group for not wanting to ask Graham a clarifying question, saying something to the effect of, “Sorry, I’m just trying not to get yelled at.”

Several additional players declined formal interview requests from SFGATE but shared statements attempting to clarify the status of the program. Many of those statements defended specific assistant and positional coaches for their caring, respectful nature. Not one player defended Graham...

...Meanwhile, according to multiple players, Graham’s own future aspirations are abundantly clear. They recall different instances when Graham had openly discussed his aspirations to leave Hawaii for the NFL. “He basically kept telling us he’s using us as a stepping stone,” as one player put it.

Said another player, “I see why he wants the bowl game so bad. It ain’t for the seniors. It ain’t for Hawaii. It’s for his reputation and the extra bowl game check.” (Graham will receive a $20,000 bonus for participating in the Hawaii Bowl. If Hawaii wins the game, he will receive an additional $40,000.)
It does not appear as if he has worked again.

Also, ahead of the Indiana game, Ohio St's MASH unit of an OL takes another hit:
Another starting offensive lineman for Ohio State has reportedly suffered a season-ending injury.

According to the Columbus Dispatch, star center Seth McLaughlin suffered a torn Achilles tendon during practice on Tuesday and will miss the remainder of the season. The injury comes just days prior to the No. 2 Buckeyes' showdown with No. 5 Indiana on Saturday.

McLaughlin, a transfer from Alabama, has been a steady force in the middle of Ohio State's offensive line this season, starting all 10 games. His absence will be a major blow for the Buckeyes, who have already lost starting left tackle Josh Simmons to a season-ending knee injury.

The #1 player on ESPN’s top 300 college football incoming players, Bryce Underwood, a pocket QB, has switched from LSU to Michigan.

I wonder how much that cost them? 😙

Yeesh, that was a disastrous 2nd quarter for Indiana.

Hoosiers better figure out how to handle the OSU pass rush or this could get ugly.

Their qb has been off since that first drive too. Supposedly has a hand injury and lost a nail.

Physically they belong, but the special teams screw ups really sinking them, and giving the 2 loss sec teams hope

The thumb injury happened against Nebraska five weeks ago, he had minor surgery and sat out the next week, but played great in two games since. It's hard to know if it's really an issue, but he seemed to be over it in previous games.

I think their biggest issue today (other than special teams disasters) is a normally very effective offensive line not being able to slow down OSU's pass rush.

Also, Ohio state is doing what it has been doing lately, starting slow and then dominating.

But Roarke missed some throws he usually makes and did so when the game was still in question

After three disappointing quarters, IU just put together a great drive for a touchdown (and very easy-looking two-point conversion), but only two minutes left on the clock. Where has that been?

The team clearly has a lot of ability but those two major special teams errors lost it for them. Without those, I think it would have been a very different game.

Ryan Day is such a dick. They could have just kneeled out the clock after Henderson slid down at the 1, and he went for the TD instead.

Rough game for Indiana. Definitely doomed by the special teams errors, but that tOSU defense is legit.

Could also see it as a sign of respect and wanting to beat down Indiana and not let Cignetti roll more than he already is

I hate being right. :(

Utah loses its fifth one-score game of the season, going 1-5 in those games. Three of the five losses came in the final minute of the game.

We were down to our 5th string QB for the second year in a row after injuries to the first 4.

Kinda just sums up our season.

Tomorrow two teams that have had disappointing seasons play each other. Fresno State visits the Rose Bowl to play UCLA. The Dogs have won the last four but the offense just hasn’t been there this year. Could be a low scoring game.

Meanwhile Georgia is losing to Georgia Tech in the fourth quarter.

The Tech coach had a chance to win the game at the end of the first overtime and chose to play for the tie. Visiting coaches with that opportunity should always take it.

And yet they missed their next few 2pt tries and had chances to win with a conversion. I didn't mind it.
