On a recommendation from a friend of my mine, I decided to read the now outdated National Security Strategy. Is it just me or does the US think that it has the ability to become the world's sovereign? It reminds me much of what Hobbes had to say in Leviathan, especially the justification for war.
Honestly this kinda of scares the bejebus out of me. I had to go back and dig out my copy of Hobbes' work and sure enough, they seem to walk hand in hand. Any thoughts on this?
U.S. as a global Empire?

I really don't know how to respond to your post beyond "yeah."
I never read Leviathan, I think I'll do that now that I read this. However, the NSS is extremely troubling. Its amazing it got so little coverage, and that it contains so much of what is happening in our world.
(I think it is late, and my mind is fading....)
