Yes, I do.

(I'm surrendering here - continuing would be several pages worth of derailment.)

Well, at least we know the first date paid off...

/edit - and to counter the misinformation, she never said 'second date.' She said that they parted and there won't be another date. They've apparently been dating for months. My guess? When the scandal hit, she blamed him. It's keeping with her character.

/edit /edit - and to be clear, there's nothing wrong with having fun on the first date. Or without dating. Or whatever.

/edit /edit /edit - and why the @*#(&*! am I wasting my time on this? I don't even care enough to read about the lives of celebrities I like!

Just exposed more there. I think in the real world, the person most interested in what one is saying, is usually oneself.

I will say, Biden filled his cabinet with personable people, which make me more interested in what they have to say, and then come to find out I respect them. After having so much exposure to Buttigieg as the secretary of transportation of all thing, I would have voted for him in the primaries of 2020. Granholm is the exception. blech

The title of that video is finally gotten to at 11:00 minutes in... if you want to skip 11 minutes of clever lead-up.

Don't get me started on OFW. I don't have the time today but I'll say this: it's going to have huge negative effects on smaller businesses (none of whom sit on the IRA board) and is a moneygrab for city tax revenue and corporate restaurant groups.

I agree that tipping is out of control and that tipped worker wages can often be well under a livable income, despite tips everywh. OFW is still going to be a disaster.

For the clueless, like me:
One Fair Wage, chaired by Alicia Renee Farris, is trying to raise the minimum wage in Michigan to $12 an hour by 2022, and to $12 an hour by 2024 for tipped workers.

Chicago version:
https://www.nbcchicago.com/news/local/c ... s/3244487/
The change means raising the minimum wage for tipped workers from $9 to $15.80 per hour, though such employees could still get tips. Under the guidelines, the $9 hourly wage would rise by 8% for five years until it reaches the $15.80 total.

I have to wonder if there's a way the city could help the small restaurant owners by giving them tax breaks to offset the sudden burden they're going to be hit with once OFW goes into effect.

On the one hand, I sympathize with hospitality service workers in places where tips aren't that great. But on the other, small restaurants operate on a VERY small margin. This could be potentially devastating to many of them.
Now depoliticized.

In typical fashion, there is no direction or aid for smaller businesses. It's just, "here's the new law, written by and for large corporate chains and groups. Now go make it work at your scale. Or don't and fail. Whatever."

There remains a possibility that it works. We have been told over and over how high minimum wage laws would destroy cities and...where they have been implemented...they didn't.

If the smaller businesses depend on paying workers far under the living wages to survive, maybe they don't deserve to survive.
