hmmm...storm sounds kind of fun, even with some of the mediocre reviews. i'll have to check in with tgb to see what his final thoughts on the game were.

Civ V for $12.50? Sold! Been waiting a while for it to drop.
Is the Deluxe version worth the extra $2.50? I'll probably get it anyhow for the video/soundtrack.

I think the 4th one may be better regarded than the 5th, but they're both good.

I dropped $15 on the deluxe. Figured it may have more fun in it.

BEWARE! Crack-like addiction tendencies with this one (surprisingly, considering the premise, which is a Bejeweled game with RPG elements!).

You have been warned.

Oooh...right at my cutoff in terms of Metacritic score. Can anyone vouch for (or against) this title?

I feel guilty for not having the ability or patience to get past the horse race in Red Dead Redemption, much to my chagrin. Thought this might fill that void instead.

OTOH, why am I even asking...it's $5!

I picked up Elven Legacy on the sale. What a great game so far. I started playing early evening and didn't even realize that it had passed midnight!

This is strangely addicting. It's basically a mix between a board-game and card game with some light RPG elements. I wouldn't pay more than $5 for it but it has pretty good writing and is an interesting change of pace if you like more casual games.

Yup. I played the demo. It was mildly interesting to me, but not enough so to add it to my backlog. I can see it being enjoyable for people that are more into that type of stuff. YMMV.

We had a nice little discussion back on Page 1, and the base game price is $1.75 cheaper than it was back on 7/18.

And since I've posted, they've added Metro Stations to the the Collection, normally $2.99, individually on sale for $0.74.

Lots of the Paradox stuff is 50% off. You can play press-your-luck and see if it gets the 75% off treatment but lots of good deals either way. Magicka, Mount & Blade, Majesty...

Battlefront 2: group shooter like Battlefield series

Rep Commando: single player shooter with a bit of "command" thing as you command the squaddies to do somethings (to break the infinite spawns, basically)

Empire at War: Age of Empires Total conversion. :)

Never tried Battlefront..was no interests there. The other two..Commandos and Empires at War are both great games...do you like shooters or rts/4x?

Well, I did love Age of Empires, if that helps? I like shooters also, if by that you mean FPS? I USED to like RTS before I turned into an old gamer (shakes a feeble fist at the young punks). Meaning, I like the older, slower RTS games that kind of started the whole genre (Warcraft, C&C, AoE, etc). As the genre matured, they became too much for me to handle...they seemed to go from a fun experience to some kind of hyped up, stressful micro management chore that required research about units and counters, huge charts, etc.

Well Commandos is a shooter but you get a squad of 3 others to command. You can tell them where to go to cover and stuff which makes it pretty fun for me.

I would say EAW is a slow rts strategy game. You have a system map and can move fleets and such to planets. once there you can invade the planet and it changes to a slow rts game. It's very slow. it's more of you moving from point A to point B and fighting stuff to get there. You can set up a few things in certain plays but it is not a full on open rts down there.

Well Commandos mp is simply forms of deathmatch. There is no co-op in it.Which is too bad because it would have been a lot of fun that way.

No experience with Battlefront.

I believe you can play Battlefront with bots on either side. It can be kinda fun as you two play on the same side, with bots against whole slew of enemy bots.
