Cheating is a time honored tradition in baseball. That's why I find it odd and hypocritical that so many people use it as an excuse to hate the Astros.
Really good video on all the history of cheating including modern stuff (including Red Sox, Yankees, Astros, Brewers, Rockies, Texas, and Dodgers - starts around 14:36. Don't forget that in the news report that broke the scandal, Ken Rosenthal said, "part of a much broader issue." and while the Dodgers allegation in the video was retracted, there's this from Tom Verducci:

In Los Angeles, the Dodgers' video room three years ago played host to starter Zack Greinke watching for weaknesses in opposing hitters. This season, the set up has a much different objective.
This year, if you walked into the same room you would have found a small army of 20-something analysts in polo shirts and slacks pouring over video from the in-house cameras, like the security room at a Vegas casino. Most teams train their cameras on the catcher, the pitcher (from several angles), the third base coach and the dugout.
These cameras are not used for training purposes. They are used expressly for stealing signs and deciphering “tells” from pitchers.
Not to mention that they now have to check every pitcher every inning for foreign substances.
Of COURSE the Astros cheated. Just like everyone else. Feel free to hate them because they are awesome. That's why I dislike Patriots. It's most of the reason I hate the Warriors (though Curry and Green are really hard to root for.)
Oh, and I'm not sure why I watch baseball. It adds so much stress to my life. Watching a playoff game is 4 hours of elevated heart rate.
