...sorry...that's BTS. I get them confused.
I never heard them before, but I watched this video - it sounds better to me than almost everything that passes for "Top 40" these days.

The song is utter shite, of course, but that didn't stop my k-pop obsessed daughter contributing to those statistics.
"Dynamite" marks BTS's first single sung completely in English
Even my daughter didn't realise all the lyrics were in English, such was the ridiculously obnoxious overuse of auto-tune.

I hate what comes after... stuff with crunched up candy cane in it. That stuff ain't designed for chewing.

I saw a commercial on late night TV. It said, "Forget everything you know about slipcovers." So I did. And it was a load off my mind. Then the commercial tried to sell me slipcovers, and I didn't know what the hell they were. -- Mitch Hedberg

I'm fine with peppermint as a flavour, I'd just rather not have TINY ROCKS in my food.

I've never quite grokked the appeal of "pumpkin pie spice". Firstly, it seems like a bit of a misnomer. Because pumpkin really has bugger all to do with it. The only reason it does is precisely because pumpkin pies would otherwise be totally bland and stodgy 'scuse-me pies without said spices. And it's not as if it's the be-all and end-all of spice combos anyway. Meh.

Pumpkin spice was actually the inspiration for Spice in the Dune books. Not a lot of people know that after I just made it up.

i thought i knew all there was to know about hi-fi setups, but i just learned you can use a three-way composite cable (yellow video, red/white audio) as a component video cable (YPbPr).

...of course you can. thinking about it, why _would_ one need a special component cable...

this would have been very useful knowledge to have 10+ years ago.

also just got back from the dentist for a second opinion. in addition to the tooth damage from acid (GERD) that i need to monitor, i'm going to have to undergo an at-home sleep study to determine the level of sleep apnea i have - partially brought on by the dark ages braces/orthodontia i had to undergo as a 12-13 year old! the 'headgear' appliance is the main culprit here - aside from being a nightmare thing to have to endure wearing - i have a small mouth to begin with, and the appliance pulled my upper palate too far back. the dentist said that this isn't done anymore, and i may have to get a new appliance that basically undoes what that torture device accomplished.

Funny story. My brother and I were an experiment to our orthodontist. We both have mouths that were too small. I got headgear. He got a device to expand the roof of his mouth. At the time we both though I was the lucky one. Headgear wasn't that bad while his device was seriously painful. 40 years later I have permanent retainers because otherwise my teeth move back because of crowding. His teeth stay put and seemingly are fine.

Ouch. Wife ended up with a whole mouth full of crowns to fix that, at a cost approaching $40k spread over three years (to maximize the small fraction that insurance would pay).

Fixed the lawn mower. The place only had one of them and I really wanted two. The mower is OLD and if that side broke then the other side cant be far behind. He said he reordered one to have on hand if I need it :)..He checked his records and the last time one of those was sold was 4 years ago. At least it should be there when I need it.

So, I'm having trouble remembering to take my medicine. So I get me a pillbox. No, not the kind with machine guns. It has all the days of the week printed on it.
It lasts me two weeks. One week to take my pills every day and another week before I fill it back up again.

Nope no moobs. Im not that overweight hehe. I should weigh about 185 - 190 and I think I weigh about 210. I miss being 188. My bad knee and bad back liked me better in those days....which was last year.

I got my wife some of those pill holders off Ebay years ago. Not very helpful. They only have 4 compartments and are not labeled with the days. I still use the one she gave me these days. Again not super helpful at times.

I've finally started listening to audio books on my drive to work, and one thing was very clear to me yesterday. Gildor was a dick. I've read it before, but for some reason the audio book ensured I didn't get distracted by anything else and it really annoyed me.

He casually tells Frodo about danger on every side, has some insight on what "the Enemy" is up to, understands the severity of the Black Riders, and knows that Hobbits are far removed from anything worthy of attention - so something big must be up in the Shire. He knows of Gandalf and his commitments and is deeply troubled by him not arriving on time. He even goes on to name Frodo a friend of the elves, which I doubt is done lightly.

How many headaches would have been avoided if he had been like "It looks like you're in some pretty deep shit and it's impressively pungent. I've been around for a few thousand years and me and the boys are just faffing around with some trees. I suppose I can take a week and walk you up to Rivendell just to make sure whatever it is the Enemy wants he doesn't get."

Nope. He pats Frodo on the back and says "Hey, good luck with that" and disappears before anyone wakes up the next morning.

SyFy Channel is showing some horrible movie called Sharktopus vs. Pteracuda. That is way way below laughable. I dont get it. When the channel started as The Sci-Fi Channel it was pretty great. Then as time went on they become dumber and dumber. They really dont do scifi any longer just stupid. Its the was the Science Channel and The History Channel and The Military Channel all started off amazing and then degenerated into bullshit...most of it not even relating to their channels name.

My guess is all the quality content has been gobbled up by the big boys leaving the lower tiers to scramble for crumbs.

...which started in 2009 when the name changed. Did you find a secret source of time juice and get lost again? :D

They did a reboot of sorts in 2017 trying to get more actual science fiction programming on the air. There have been really enjoyable shows (The Expanse, Deadly Class, Wynonna Earp, 12 Monkeys, Z-Nation, Defiance, Alphas, Warehouse 13, Eureka, Lost Girl, The Magicians) over the last decade but I still think they make their biggest bank slinging schlock and old movies.
