Drag me to Hell

for all the critical reception this got for Sam Raimi's attempt at PG13 horror, I felt it was trite, and was all about jump scares with minimal dread. I was so disappointed by this flick.

This is one of my favorites because I laughed and laughed all the way through it in the theater until people started scooting away from me.

The Help - it was fun while it lasted and got nominated for Best Picture, but it really doesn't hold up much at all. One great scene doesn't make up for trite story and relationships.

Meh. One needn't consider it a bad movie, but I'd hardly be the first to suggest it's been overrated:

I have some questions. Who shanked Shaw. Why did he/she need to be shanked? Why is Shaws' shanker receiving redemption?

Born Yesterday (1950)

Spoiler:
The Big Book of All Knowledge wrote:The film tells the story of an uneducated young woman, Billie Dawn (played by Judy Holliday, in an Oscar-winning performance) and an uncouth, older, wealthy junkyard tycoon, Harry Brock (Broderick Crawford) who comes to Washington to try to "buy" a congressman. When Billie embarrasses him socially, Brock hires journalist Paul Verrall (William Holden) to educate her. In the process, Billie learns how corrupt Harry is, and eventually falls in love with Paul.
