In Marvel’s Blade, Eric Brooks is the legendary Daywalker, half-man, half-vampire torn between the warm society of the living and the rushing power of the undead. From Bethesda and Arkane Lyon, the studio that brought you Dishonored and “DEATHLOOP”, Marvel’s Blade is a mature, single-player, third-person game set in the heart of Paris, now in development in collaboration with Marvel Games.
Nothing on a release date, so I'll just soak in the hype.
Yes it really feels like a bit of an oversight to not have a Blade game already given the success of the Batman and Spider Man titles. It's not much to go on, but assuming the game is in the style of that trailer, I'm definitely watching for more info.
I wonder why they didn't license Snipes for this? Wanted too much or other issues?

Could have something to do with the last Blade movie with Snipes being almost 20 years old (2004). There's a good chance that a big chunk of the gaming audience aren't familiar enough with those films to justify the trouble (and expense) of getting anyone from the past involved.

If you license Snipes, then you are making a Blade game set in the Wesley Snipes Blade universe (or will be creating that perception), which is extremely limiting, as many characters already had their arcs.
Even if they wanted to, they had to license the property from Disney, and Disney probably doesn't want to promote the old version of Blade with a new film coming in the next couple of years.

And there’s the slight issue with Snipes being bat shit insane.
From dementia. He's 61.
He was crazy to begin with. Im not sure you could tel la difference. I always imagine him in RL like his Demolition Man character.

Where’s my Triple P video game? I could see a major mechanic of trying to find the most embarrassing costume possible.
There was a Triple P reference in Spiderman 2 but only the cool kids caught it.

I can't find anything about him having dementia.
Yeah, sorry. 2 things. I was agreeing with you that he is crazy, and that he's old. The dementia comment was just a combination of those 2 as a sarcastic explanation.
I have no idea if he has dementia or not. Likely not.

Stories about his behavior on the set of films are oft told. He's been a strange (and volatile) duck for a long time.
They had to CGI open eyes on him for one of the Blade movies because he refused to open them for filming the scene. That said, I do hope he can make a cameo at least.
