First substantial teaser is up with a look at the characters and the setting.

I’m cautiously optimistic about this one. I dig the look and feel so far. Plus, Galactus isn’t a freaking cloud.

I looooooove the alt-60s aesthetic. I think it was absolutely the right choice. All the previous FF films have suffered from them trying to either fit the campiness of this team into the modern era, or trying to remove the campiness to make them something they're not. I grew up on the Fantastic Four comics. They're kind of goofy, that's just what they are. Playing to that as a strength rather than an obstacle is 100% the right way to go.

I agree with YK. I will say that trailer looked 100× better than any of the previous FF movies.

It feels almost like a live action The Incredibles in many ways.

It's well known that the FF is just a rip off of the Incredibles.

Please, please, PLEASE, can we finally have a F4 movie that does them justice. They were also a favorite comic of mine growing up and I like what I see in this trailer.

You ALREADY got that wish granted back in the 90s!

note: my favorite bit is at the 52 second mark where we learn that invisibility and intangibility are the same thing in their world.

They obviously blew most of their budget on special effects. Especially Reed's stretching powers.

27 dollars sounds like a lot, but when you hire the best FX artists, it goes fast.

Meanwhile, The Mask and Forrest Gump hit theaters that year.

And all we can remember is Corman's Fantastic Four. That should tell you just how great it was.

I am pretty much in on any MCU movie, since even their worst movies/shows are at least decent to pretty good, and most are way better. But, I have never been a fan of the Fantastic Four, so I'm not super excited. Hopefully, it will change my mind about the F4.

I feel they USED to be decent to good. But they’ve churned out mostly sub par crap for quite a while now, and I’m hoping this reinvigorates them. It was definitely time for a change.

Been playing Marvel Rivals as the Invisible Woman the past day or two, and I'm ready for this to release!

I have never seen a real trailer that looked more like an AI-generated parody trailer than this. I don't hate it, but there's something about the CGI and art direction that reminds me of any number of fake AI trailers that I've seen in the last year or two.

Could it be that so many of those AI trailers are trying to recreate the same general aesthetic that this film went for? The retrofiturist 60s has a very distinct feel.

I think that's more a testimony to how good AI generated videos have become and less about any aesthetic flaw in this trailer.

Just be aware that you won't be able to control the characters on the screen though. I don't want you jumping up and throwing your controller at the head of the person sitting in front of you again like last time when you realized that.

A lot of AI videos use that retro-futurism aesthetic for some reason. I totally get the comparison.

That's probably a big part of it, alongside the extensive CGI.

It's just a reaction, not a criticism per se.

That describes my reaction pretty well. For the short period of time in the late 70s and early 80s that I followed comics they felt like the boring team. If I get a chance I'll see the movie but the trailer didn't make me want to seek it out.

Interesting theory about how the FF might join the current MCU based on a "blink and you'll miss it" scene in the trailer.

I'm not a big fan of the FF, although I'm more of a fan of Ben Grimm (and modern Sue is kind of awesome.)

I hope they explain how his clothes and suit expand with him when he stretches.

That trailer feels so 1950's comic book ..I love it. Also reminds me of 1980's Flash Gordon.

They addressed the suits in the comics, excusing Reed's stretching, turning invisible with Sue, and not being reduced to ash on Johnny.

Short version: technobabble cloth.
