10/29/04 Down time

Now that our domain name is settled, it's time for the boards to officially move over to the Octopus Overlords domain instead of using the redirect to PCGamesForum. In order to do that move, I'll be bringing down the boards for approximately 30-40 minutes on 10/29/04 starting at 9:00am ET (GMT-4).

I'd ask that everyone go ahead and update their bookmarks to http://www.octopusoverlords.com/phpBB2 now. There's currently a redirect that takes you from that link to the the pcgamesforum domain. Once I finish the move, I'll take down the redirect and you'll automatically be taken to the boards in their new home. Folks who don't see this message in time to update their bookmarks should see a similar note to update their bookmarks, or will automatically be redirected to the new boards.

NOTE: No posts or user data or anything should be lost during this process, so no worries about starting from scratch.

That's all I got.

And I'm glad to be able to give you all notices of the downtimes. As I've said elsewhere, I hate losing posts just as much as the next poster. And here's a little secret, having a schedule for these things gives me a motivation to start and end on time.
