10/29/04 Board Transfer Complete

Just an update for everyone, we've officially transferred over to the octopusoverlords.com domain, so everyone should update their bookmarks to http://www.octopusoverlords.com/phpBB2 if you haven't already.

Everything went smoothly with one minor glitch. I haven't figured out how to setup a redirect from oo.com/ to oo.com/phpBB2 via the server control panel, so for now there's a basic redirect page at the domain root. If you don't want to hit that redirect everytime, just update your bookmark to the address I listed above.

If anyone finds any problems that have occured after the transfer, please post them here and I'll take a look at it. I would suggest that first you try clearing out your browser cookies and cache on the off-chance that there is a conflict there.

Note, the admin address for the board has changed to admin@octopusoverlords.com.

Looks like everything went as planned... except that is my crowning as Grand Poobah of the OO boards. Very dissapointed. Very disappointed indeed!

hey Gedd,
The one thing I noticed is that, while I was coming here from a Brutesquad.net bookmark, it was giving me an error message, basically forwarding me to incorrectly typed bookmark. i had to type in OctopusOverlords.com for it to load correctly.

just an fyi. it almost makes it look like the board is down.

Thanks Veg...there's a bad redirect going on there. I don't have access to that domain, but I've forwarded the info on to someone who does.

When I use this url: http://pcgamesforum.com/phpBB2/

I get redirected to: http://www.octopusoverlords.comphpbb2/

which is obviously an error.

Ok, got it figured out. You guys using pcgamesforum.com/phpBB2 should be ok now. Anyone using brutesquad.net/phpBB2 may still have the problem until Rip can update that domain.
