I only jumped in for about 5 laps, but this game continues to impress the hell out of me. This demo allows you to have a race against actual other people on the Spa-Francorchamps circuit.

This could be the best driving sim ever made. Maybe. Very, very impressive.

Check the usual suspects for download - gamespot, 3dgamers, whatever.

For the uneducated what does GTR stand for?

That's the title of the game. I would guess it means GT racing, though. Kratzer?

Yeah - that's the title of the game.

It is GT Racing from Simbin, who made some really great GT mods for EA's F1 series of games. From what I understand, they bought the engine for F1 Challenge from EA (who had stopped the series), which was a great engine to begine with, then updated the graphics and built their own GT game on it. Now it is the official FIA GT game or whatever - licensed cars and drivers and shit.

It looks, and more importantly FEELS, great. They are promising a ridiculous number of cars on the track at the same time... 50 or something.

Do not download if you do not like Starforce, same with the game.

Well, shit. I wish I knew that before I installed it.

Game gone, Starforce drivers gone.

Honestly, I wasn't that impressed with it anyways. Partly because my joystick decided to stop working.

Joystick? Yeah, it is a sim - you really need a wheel.

Yeah, but I was never hardcore enough about racing games to spend money and valuable desktop space on something I'd use once a year, tops.

That's not why I disliked it, though. I disliked it because I was having problems with the controls working the way they should. And from the very few racing games I've played, it really wasn't one of my favorites based on the demo.
