How do I get the default Word formatting back?

Somehow mmy wife or I messed up Word, and now whenever I start a new Word Document, the formatting is all messed up. How do I get it back to default or something that is normal?

My wife did the same thing. I ended up copying the default template for a word document from my computer and dropping it in to the appropriate place on hers.

Everything else didn't work.

Do a search for a file called normal.dot (you might have to include hidden files)

Delete all instances of normal.dot found and then open a new word document.

Close that blank word document, save the changes to normal.dot (if prompted) and BINGO! you've got a new default Word template.

Ahhh..the Amish. They're really trying to compete with us computer folks...but they've got a lot to learn.
