Rise up!

Daggerfall Unity Tutorial and Impressions
Daggerfall Workshop currently has a project in the works to run The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall using the Unity Engine. I'll show you how to get it running, and give a preview of what they're working on with some impressions.

I never played this back in the day, as I was scared off by game breaking bugs. Now I see there is a remake available. Has anyone tried this?

Daggerfall: the most broken game of all time!

I still remember all the time trying to go up or down stairs and ending up outside the map. Sometimes it was handy, if you could find a gap to slip back into the map.

Aaaaaaand I'm out.

On the plus side:

Character creation was fun. You get to re-roll your bonus stats but it was capped at 14.
Dead enemies turn into hilarious 2-D cardboard cutouts.

But unfortunately:

The movement was drunken and laggy af.
Couldn't figure out how to cast spells in combat and didn't stay around long enough to see.
What killed it for me was when I retreated to an empty room, closed the door behind me and tried to rest. A bear came out of nowhere and killed me.

I think they could have made the opening dungeon a little easier, but kind of glad they didn't.

So was Myth II, IIRC. And Outpost probably should have been.

Anyhow, I think we can agree that Daggerfall is not the most broken game ever. It's merely charmingly janky.

Yeah, Battlecruiser 3K is definitely up there.

To get back on topic...

Mod Turns Classic Elder Scrolls Game Into an Action-Packed FPS
Daggerfall, the second entry in the long-running Elder Scrolls franchise, has been given a new lease on life, thanks to a mod that adds firearms to the classic RPG, turning the game into something more violent and high octane. While Bethesda is trying something different with the upcoming Starfield, many will know the studio for its legendary fantasy series, as well as the modern Fallout installments. However, it's easy to forget that there are other games under the TES name besides Skyrim.
As spotted by PC Gamer, Nexus Mods user numidium3rd has brought the world "Future Shock Weapons," a modification for The Elder Scrolls 2: Daggerfall that adds guns to the fantasy title. More specifically, the ranged weapons are from Terminator: Future Shock, a 1995 FPS that, funnily enough, was developed by a young Bethesda Softworks. A clip from Twitter user DeMickyD shows the mod in action, with the opening dungeon seemingly being a breeze for the player as they mow down rats, bears, and giants bats with powerful guns. The inclusion of the Duke Nukem theme tune to the clip only adds to the fast-paced action.
