Best PC shooters (Warblade), what's yours?

If it's a video game it goes here.

Best PC shooters (Warblade), what's yours?

Post by Mudfrost »

I'm hopelessly hooked on Warblade (see link below), and I'm looking for similar games with an equal amount of pitiful addiction.

Old-school shooters. That's the key.

Edited to add Warblade link. You might want to grab this one!

Platypus is a cool side-scrolling shooter with great graphics, though it gets very hard after the first level.

I've played that demo and it's great! I'm very tempted to buy. Who would have thought claymation could work in a shooter? Hats off to the programmers. Good stuff.

Has anyone here bought this game? How's the finished version? Worth it?

Yeah, I bought it. As I said, it gets awful hard after the first level, so that dampened my enthusiasm a little bit. If you are willing to put in the practice though, it might be worth the purchase, if only to keep the retro dream alive and reward such a classy little product.

Mudfrost, you may want to include the name of the game you're talking about in the subject line. It'd help interested people find your thread.

Just a suggestion,

Meal,

While mentioning a favorite of mine, I am also asking for opinions from others. Still, you make a valid point, so I've edited the subject line.

Also you might want to use the phrase "shoot-em-up" as "shooter" is often taken to mean FPS's nowadays.

Hmmm, I feel my apetite being whetted (okay, that line was stupid). I've always wanted to really get into a sidescroller, but I have a problem. I suck at sidescrollers. I really need a quicksave to not be frustrated with the repetition of going back thru a level, are there any out there like this? I admit, I am woefully uninformed in this area of gaming!

I always use the term "arcade shooter" or "side scroller" to describe these types of games. I have a couple to post, but it will have to wait until later tonight (busy, sorry).
